yeah built by a Thai company, where will the proceeds go? Not to preserving and protecting Khmer artifacts I suppose. But I am pleased with this museum. I will visit this museum soon.

that means for 30 years the Vilailuck Ltd. will take all the proceeds from tourists visiting the museum. For a museum this big right in the middle of Siem Reap, they are pretty stupid to make a 30 year concession. period.

This is not negative comments but the outside should improves its looks. So plain.

This looks awesome... I think I may do another round trip to the motherland... next year though biggrin.gif.

The only problem I have with it is that it is owned by a foreign company, and not just because it's a Thai company, but more like because it's not a Cambodian company... and on top of that, things like this should be government owned and run. Having said that, I honestly believe that Vilailuck will take much better care of it than if it were state owned or owned by a Cambodian company... *sigh*

Still.. I like! =D

Thanx for the pics. Yeah, i read about the controversy of the building. The SRP was against it saying the design should be Khmer style. So Hun Sen made sure the company use Khmer style only, not sure if the designer is Khmer or Thai though.

I like the inside, but the outside is like choking my patience. Its so ugly, that is all that needs said. They should have made the tower design in the bayon style, very sexy and sophisticated.
