It's just become a nesting place for trolls, anti-trolls, propaganda, and hyper-sensitivity; and fun or constructive posts are few. There was a descent community there a while back, but now it's gone. Besides, you short-nosed folk don't really consider us "Asian" anyway.

I am reading Amartya Sen's "The Argumentative Indian", and it seems that it's a tradition for Indians to argue incessantly.. but the redeeming trait is that this tendency for heterodoxy in the Indian mind is what gives rise to some of the greatest religions in the world, and also a forebearance and tolerance for humanity, filth and purity, unholy and sacred, old fashioned and avant garde, that is unsurpassed in this world.

I say keep India Chat please for the sake of The Argumentative Indian not to be in danger of extinction.

I'm not going to deny Indians don't argue, in fact we actually do like argueing but trolling isn't argueing and that forum has gone to hell n worse.

would it help if i banned moviez, hafiz, thabo, and korean poster who posted that indian man marrying dog thread, and who seem to enjoy insulting the world's two largest ethnicites

I do not think it would be good to close the Indian Chat. Trolling is a problem, but it should not put an end to all of the Indian Chat. For Asia Finest to be truly pan-Asian it needs an Indian chat. If any "short-nosed folk" does not find Indians to be Asian, then might as well take Cambodians out of the picture, our culture is of Indian origin and racially, we are not "mongoloids" like say Chinese or Tibetan people, but "australoids". I've learn many things on the Indian Chat before I decided to join AF that was revelant to my own ethnic background and I really don't want it to go away.

I like going to Indian chat. Theres a lot of interesting stuff going on.
Aside from the trolls lurking around just to get attention.
Banning members wont help. They would just create a new account and then theyre free to post again and troll around.
Dont say that you (Indians) are not being considered as asians.You contributed a lot anyway. With your culture and interesting topic to be discussed.
I say Indian chat should remain here on AF but sad to hear if its really gonna disappear from here.

to be frank, there seems to be a tendency amongst Indian chatters, particularly the Desis, to use vulgarities in their exchanges. They put me off the India Chat more than these random trollers.

Is it really that bad? maybe I don't go enough but I think it's fairly timid in there most of the time. I don't think I'm ever particularly bad and the others mentioned above (Tenji and Vaman) are usually nice too.



Like I said above, I don't think there are that many Indian vulgarities between Indian posters. I certainly don't think India chat is as insulting or hostile as a couple of the other chats.

As for regulars, I guess me, Vaman, Tenji, Jiggy, Falcon (usually creating controversy), and kkdkcrl are all fairly regular posters there (of Indian descent, or claiming to be as such ).

Good point. Why aren't there anymore Indian chicks in India Chat anymore?

Raindropz comes infrequently as always I guess, YoungOne seems to have disappeared from the forums I guess, other than EY, who doesn't post as much in general now anyway and Najjiah, who's left?

I rarely ever see any of them on India Chat... but then again, I've been away from India Chat for quite some time myself.
