Just this afternoon i was checking out other asian country forum (indonesia forum in particular)i saw one that caught my attention..filipinos daw are so obsessed with winning ?let me paste the topic.

Now what really did bother to me is someone replied like this:

I wish we Filipinos would value scientific, technical, artistic, and other intellectual achievements (and competitions) more than the crap mentioned in the first post of this thread...

Why would the Indonesians be talking about us? I don't really think any of them care about this because I don't.

Are we obsessed? Do we cut ourselves if we lose?

I think the proper term is we are passionate in winning!

we're hungry on winning in almost all genres I would say

BEAUTY CONTEST
TALENT CONTESTS

AND SPORTS ..

we should try the sciences, arts and literature..

those are the things that really matter...

We have been excelling in those. It's just not very publicisized. However, boxing and such sports are what many young pinoys aspire to be great at because those passions provide the easiest and fastest way out of poverty.

I agree though if you mean we should do more to save our educational system.
