Anybody know of any good sites where can I go to get the best bhangra music? Our school has some Bhangra teams and oh man, they have awesome tracks. They're all remixes though. I love the sound of the dhol in the background. *swoon*

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBia1KqFCOoI dunno how anyone likes this crap. The better Indian DJs are into trance and might do some hybrid stuff but bhangra is mostly for deep fob folks.

Haven't found any that seem to let you download direct to your computer, but you can at least stream off these sites...

And people say that white Americans are arrogant and they think that their culture is superior to anything else in the world. Then what about non-white Americans calling other people FOBs just because their taste is different and more ethnic. I want to advice those Americans to stop thinking like brainwashed zombies and open their minds.

You don't seem too fond of overseas Indians.

Here is a pretty good site on Bhangra I'm assuming most are downloadable to your computer since I have obtained a few copies from this site okay here's my favourite and its downloadable for unregistered users its called (
Babe Bhangra Pounde Ne) by Gurdas Mann.
To have full access and priveleges for other downloads you need to obviously register hope that helps.
Just click play video under the image and it should come up with a dialogue box for you to direct which folder to download the link. You need to first download the link play it in Windows Media Player it will then start to download the song then remember to
save as in Window Media Player.
Babe Bhangra Pounde Ne - Gurdas Mann enjoy.
There is a way to download of youtube but I'll post instructions on how to beat that later.

Whats wrong with not liking it? I dont understand punjabi & it sounds like every other song that is "bhangra".

Ha I just noticed that Jiggigy posted up a youtube link of my favourite download.
I guess really it all boils down to what your tastes are I used to be into grunge and punk rock like Blink182 but now I'm so over that style. I'm not a big fan of rap either. I do like Indie rock such as Modest Mouse and Arcade Fire but Bhangra has taken hold over me at the moment.

Bhangra is so awesome. Thank you Randi for the music!!!
I really like this song that I found on limewire "Dil Apna Punjabi - Akh Lad Gayi (dhol mix)"
It's so upbeat. Western music isn't all that. People think rap/hiphop is so awesome, but nothing really beats the traditional, ethnic music :-) I personally don't think bhangra is fobby at all. I think it's the pride of a nation. It's such upbeat and energetic music. When the guys and girls dress up in traditional stuff and dance to bhangra, it's SO amazing.

Not really, I dont understand punjabi except the words that are similar to hindi they use. Sure I am happy that there is exposure of it & people like it, I just dont like it when people suck into it & rave that its great(est) when its just recycled music(it all does sound alike).

I'm fairly confident Bhangra isn't THAT prevalent and I am probably among the few who actually like it a lot who happens to not be brown. I am East Asian, as you can see.

The thing that kills me about Bhangra is that it's so friggin 90s. Some of my cousins and their friends used to churn out bhangra mixes like no tomorrow, but the ones that still DJ have long since moved on to other things. It seems people in Canada still want to party like it's 1999.

is there really that much difference between the 90s and 2000s
jiggyiggy
Dec 16 2007, 03:01 PM
YES, YES THERE IS. For starters, Hip Hop was actually a descent music genre and the 90s had Grunge.

Bringing back my bhangra thread to 2008. Heck yes.
