As expected Labor party wins Aussie election.

Wow, this is exciting Coz, Kevin & his Labor party is against to uranium exports to China and war in Iraq.
Also this guy knows about asia better than most Aussie politicians.

We will see how he will effect Aussie foreign relations with Asia and USA.

My whole family voted for his party so I'm pretty happy with polls.

Wow! What an election it was - I, too, voted for Kevin and his party but before the results were released, I honestly thought John Howard would just clinch the victory. But as it turns out, Labor Party has convincingly won the government with Kevin Rudd as the new prime minister of Australia.

Also I hear that the majority of the chinese population voted for him too - probably because they found favour in him for the fact that he speaks fluent mandarin.

Kevin Rudd was invited by Hu Jingtao to attend the 2008 Olympics in Beijing when they met in September. When he said that he will be closer to Asia, he meant that he will be closer to Beijing.

well there is a perception that Rudd is more inclined to engage with Asia, which also includes China (compared to how Howard had handled it). I just hope we can see some asian faces in his government anytime soon.
But anyway Howard and his team did a good job for bringing about economic prosperity we're enjoying today, but he's been in power for too long which was making him too autonomous, and i think a lot of the folks had felt this as well.

I'm just happy to see this was Howard's exit poll. Howard was anti-asians, well we will see if Rudd can handle asian affairs better than Howard.
I hope Rudd makes smart decision over China's affairs.

Sure you can find asians working in the Local government such as the councils and low key-post positions in NSW but I'm saying that i wish there could be any asian faces in the very cabinet of the prime minister.
By the way the mayor of Melbourne, John So, is a legend. People living in melbourne are lucky to have someone like him as their mayor - can't say much for the mayor of Sydney..
