Nowadays, many people like to claim that beauty is to the eye of the beholder without actually believing in it. I think that this statement is very true. Have you ever seen models 2 to 3 decades ago? By today standards, they aren't really that hot anymore. Does that mean that today standards have grown higher? I don't think so. I feel that what has happened is that the definition of beauty has just merely shifted in the minds of the general population. About a hundred years ago in europe, they seemed to like big bootys, then around a few decades ago, the trend shifted to stick thin girls. Now in america, it seems to have shifted back to big bootys.
Another example is the difference in the models from japan and america. What would be considered pretty in japan is merely considered cute in america. In japan, cute is synonymous with pretty.
So 3 things ppl should do:
1)Scrap miss universe contests. It doesn't make sense. Most of the winners are beautiful in the western definition. Even the miss universe 2006 from japan won by having strong western features.
2)Stop calling east asians slit eyes and thinking its an insult.
3)Stop getting offended when ppl call u slit eyed/small nosed/whatever because u are just following their definition of beauty.
