Nowadays, many people like to claim that beauty is to the eye of the beholder without actually believing in it. I think that this statement is very true. Have you ever seen models 2 to 3 decades ago? By today standards, they aren't really that hot anymore. Does that mean that today standards have grown higher? I don't think so. I feel that what has happened is that the definition of beauty has just merely shifted in the minds of the general population. About a hundred years ago in europe, they seemed to like big bootys, then around a few decades ago, the trend shifted to stick thin girls. Now in america, it seems to have shifted back to big bootys.

Another example is the difference in the models from japan and america. What would be considered pretty in japan is merely considered cute in america. In japan, cute is synonymous with pretty.

So 3 things ppl should do:

1)Scrap miss universe contests. It doesn't make sense. Most of the winners are beautiful in the western definition. Even the miss universe 2006 from japan won by having strong western features.

2)Stop calling east asians slit eyes and thinking its an insult.

3)Stop getting offended when ppl call u slit eyed/small nosed/whatever because u are just following their definition of beauty.

or bring in a MR universe; publicise how all men should look or what is the current most desired race or facial/body structure

i dont see what these people contribute to society

beauty is indeed in the eye of the beholder.....but there are certain people that trascend bounderies...when someone is beautiful they are simply beautiful whether that person is your type or not....its like a Ferrari, sure you might prefer Lambourghinis but to say Ferraris are ugly is just nonsense...
tujue
some people think ferraris are ugly

i agree. sure there are universal elements of breauty like having healthy skin and stuff but that has to do with health more than facial features.
there have been girls i thought beautiful but my brother hated and vice versa. so i think everyone has their own taste and i do think it's influenced by your own race and appearance a bit.

atleast it does for me not being a skinny guy i don't find really skinny girls that attractive and i d rather have a girl who has a full body.

nothing wrong have having small slanted eyes.
i love my slanted eyes.
i think it's sexy.

i love my small nose..

i love my physical features...

i don't know why but most asian are ashame of their appearances,
maybe because they let the western images of beauty consume their mind too much
that they feel insecure about themselves.

how sad. some people can't seem to think.
so they will try stupid things to fit in.
Kiss_the_Girls
^^ Amen sista..Really it's the insecure Asians and most of the time the FOBBY ONES who are ashamed of there Asian features..Like a lot of my Asian friends have small "chineseY EYES", yet they are so CONFIDENT and have no trouble in getting WHITE CHICKS!
TheHero
People like whatever they're used to seeing.

Many racists think slanted eyes are pretty. They say "slant eyes" to emphasize they're different. Many Asians think Euros are attractive but still make fun of thier high noses and round eyes. And visa versa.
