IRC's are kinda fun actually. There was one on this other forum that I went to for awhile, but then someone sent an underage girl furry porn and it kind of ended. =/

But it was nice while it lasted.

There was an IRC on the last forum I was at. The problem was people were simply using the IRC for flame wars instead of using it for intelligent conversations, so that too was very short lived.
