So I just finished watching all 10 episodes so far, and this is the first Gundam series i've ever followed and it's made a great first impression on me so far. So anyone else watch it?

Well the "advanced" mechs from Union, and HRL (the advanced soldier) becoming to be on par with the gundams

I'm still on episode 2 of gundam seed, then i gotta watch seed destiny.

I guess that will happen later. Their enemies start to toughen up.
In wing it took some episodes too before you see some gundam vs gundam action.
In gundam seed it was the 1st or 2nd one, think 2nd. But that wasnt really great, because they were both inexperienced.

Anyways, i got the feeling the animation is a lot sharper. They improved on the effects too.

whats so great about gundam its just a bunch of metal fighting each other..

For the most part, it has great animation, mech battles are cool, and usually has a great story with lots of political aspects to it as well. That being said....I haven't watched a Gundam series since the 8th MS Team.

Ep 18 got to me to the point that I actually ended up ordering the older 1/144 FLAG Graham Custom kit. I haven't even touched a modeling kit in maybe 5 years or so, but I just couldn't resist.

Good marketing ploy too, but I'm just going to fall for it anyway.

I was about to ask what is the storyline like compared to Gundam Seed. However, if it takes 18 episodes before you're hooked to it then it is a failure in my eyes.

How far did you get? The story is only weak for the first 10 episodes.


Gundam 00's story after episode 18 is probably even better than Gundam SEED in my opinion (even though Gundam SEED was previously my favourite Gundam series). The second season of Gundam 00 (which will begin in October) should give Code Geass a run for its money.

Yeah the last half of the series was good. I had my doubts at first but turned out much better than SEED.

Gundam Wing is the best.

gundam 00 is back in the air! code geass is over and replaced with another good show.

The second series stars a lot faster than the first one and it started interesting.

So there are 3 forces now:
anti-government force Kataron
autonomous peace-keeping force A-Laws, that is supposed to keep the world safe. I am not sure yet if Ribbon is leading this behind the curtains.
and Celestial Being

I just saw the first episode of the second season. I was getting the feeling they might start the second season off slowly like they did at the beginning of the first season, but instead the story moved along at a fast pace, picking up with the same high momentum that the first season left off with.

As for the A-Laws peacekeeping force, they seem like a homage to the Titans counter-insurgency force in Zeta Gundam (the sequel to the original Gundam). The Titans were pretty ruthless in Zeta Gundam, so it will be interesting to see whether Gundam 00 does something similar with the A-Laws or decides to do something different.

As for Louise, I always had my suspicions that she'd be working for the Earth Sphere Federation, although I didn't think she'd become a soldier with that injury of hers (which now seems to be healed?). Since she's now part of A-Laws though, I guess there's probably going to be a tragic love story plotline with Saji and Louise.

Anyway, it's good to see Jihad-kun and Tiara alive and well, although Lord Hallelujah isn't doing so well (but at least he's alive). A lot of fans thought one or two of them might have died after the final showdown in the first season.

s2 ep1. setsuna meets up with tieria and works on 00.
s2 ep2. lockon (younger brother) and sumeragi joins and 00 is completed
