Full Version: The world is too competitive and moving too fast today

Informatique
People are always moving around these days. Following jobs that will advance their careers. Families become less close. Even couples have a hard time staying together because their career objectives may be incompatible. Friends lose touch with each other and life just seems like a constant journey.

What if you want to stop the journey? What if you want some stability and relaxation? If you do that, you'll be left in the dust and society will consider you a "loser."

People become more fake and have to lead double lives in order to get ahead in life. Life becomes this whole masquerade as we keep striving for that ideal life that we have in our minds which may not even exist or even be attainable.

But things like this are hard to change. It's societal revolution. Nothing can be done. But there is one thing we can do. We should learn to appreciate every minute of our lives. Even if we think its not that good, it may not last forever and when its gone, you may end up missing it. I think this is the only way to stay sane in this world.

Your words bring two songs to mind: Castles In the Air, and This Masquerade, by Maclean and Benson if I recall. I almost put the lyrics up here but though it might be best not to. Another interesting one I remember reading was James Redfield's Celestine Prophecy, although I might be forgetting the correct authors and composers. Just trying to be optimistic on a Sunday before Christmas, and wondering if perhaps there are more than one thing we can do? There is only one book of The Bible I can't bring myself to read yet, The Book of Revelations. The future's not our's to see, khe sera, sera...

Merry Christmas, Informatique.
