HANOI, VIETNAM: Viet Nam has lured US$20.3 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) this year, said the head of the Foreign Investment Department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Phan Huu Thang.

So $20 bil of FDI got "discounted" to $5.6 bil and out of this $5.6, we might only get 10-20% of the money injected into our hands while foreign investors spend the rest on their labor, material or equipment. and I'm being generous with the 10-20% number here.

Vietnam got injected about $4-5 bil dollars from the tourism industry a year, that is what I can real earnings.
