Are you trying to justify their crimes, you should consider the suffering caused by their action. There even a case where a father killed his child before he commit suicide, after so much pressure from this so call "along"
I'd say both sides are to be blamed.
The Along, because of their brutal payback method; and because even if you're a good debtor who pays back his debts on time there's chances they'll take advantage on you and charge you higher interests to cover up their loses from those who do not pay back their debts.
The Debtor, because even after knowing the dangers of borrowing from the Along they are willing to take the risk just for temporary financial relief. And it's not even a small amount - 5,000, 50,000, 500,000, you name it.
+ Maybe even the Bank, for their very strict loan policies. I don't they're the main problem-makers here but it'll probably do the society (especially the poor) some good if the Bank loosen its collars a little.
+ Police? What do you think? Again I don't think they're the main source of problem either.
But I think the Debtors ought to get more of the blame because they are the ones that keep the Along business thriving. I'm not sure if there's such a thing as 'completely no choice' ... but I suppose those who go to the Alongs are mostly those that are driven by desperation and turn to the Alongs as a last resort. What do you guys think?
