Full Version: A question for Japanese folks

Do they resent the fact that Koreans taught them the beginnings of civilization? My Asian history professor told me that Japanese first signs of civilization like religion, irrigation, etc came from migrating Koreans.

I've always wondering why Japanese change history books so much.

btw here's a little known fact, Japanese yakuza were a Korean military squad brought over to show them "war-like" attitudes, but we're talking about like 300 years ago.

I dont see why you should resent that Koreans gave you the civilization of Japan.

Japanese don't resent Koreans. The Japanese learned a great deal from the Koreans and then later the Chinese. After learning from them, they learned a vast amount from Westerners. The Japanese are actually quite proud about learning in general and improving themselves. You probably been reading up on some extremists ideologies from some Japanese to come to the question as to why Japanese don't like Koreans. They are a minority as any extremists are in any country. I don't really understand why so many people generalize, especially on statistics and facts they are not fully learned on.

I think they do. When my professor told the class that Japanese are Korean migrants looking for an easier place to survive, all the Japanese started yelling.

I guess eventually the child of Korea rebels. If it weren't for the US Japan would probably still be subservient to Korea and China.

I know. The U.S. nuked Korea just so that Japan could regain her freedom. Otherwise, Japan would still be a b!tch-state of Korea. Thank the almighty Dangun for this great blessing!

Well Japan is not just Korea migrants. I have no doubt 'Korean' ancestry exists in the Japanese, as does Chinese ancestry and natives to Japan. So to say Japan is just Korean immigrants would be a bold statement to make which I would even challenge.

But I suppose it's when you say "If it weren't for the US Japan would probably still be subservient to Korea and China" that I truly understand the goal of your topic....which really doesn't have to do with the Japanese so much as it does with personal issues.
