PM Manmohan Singh’s visit to China has created an uproar in the Sino-Indian relationship. Military, nuclear, trade, Asian solidarity are the areas where the two countries agreed to cooperate.
The two sides also agreed to hold second military exercise in India this year, building on the goodwill generated by the landmark handshake between the world's two powerful armies last month in Kumming in China.
India and China will also engage in bilateral cooperation in civil nuclear energy consistent with respective international commitments which will contribute to energy security and to dealing with risks associated with climate change.
The two fastest growing superpower of the future has decided to form an alliance based on Asian solidarity to counter US-EU alliance and stand against NATO if need be.
A bigger question that lies in front of other major Asian economies is if they will join the alliance. All eyes are now on South Korea and Japan. Can Asia form an EU type alliance? Can Asian military alliance form a formidable force to counter NATO? Will Japan, Russia and South korea join the Asian solidarity movement?
