India and China come closer to launch a counter NATO Asian alliance – will South Korea, Russia and Japan join?
http://www.indiadaily.com/editorial/18905.asp

PM Manmohan Singh’s visit to China has created an uproar in the Sino-Indian relationship. Military, nuclear, trade, Asian solidarity are the areas where the two countries agreed to cooperate.

The two sides also agreed to hold second military exercise in India this year, building on the goodwill generated by the landmark handshake between the world's two powerful armies last month in Kumming in China.

India and China will also engage in bilateral cooperation in civil nuclear energy consistent with respective international commitments which will contribute to energy security and to dealing with risks associated with climate change.

The two fastest growing superpower of the future has decided to form an alliance based on Asian solidarity to counter US-EU alliance and stand against NATO if need be.

A bigger question that lies in front of other major Asian economies is if they will join the alliance. All eyes are now on South Korea and Japan. Can Asia form an EU type alliance? Can Asian military alliance form a formidable force to counter NATO? Will Japan, Russia and South korea join the Asian solidarity movement?

Take what the Indian media says with a grain of salt, it's more sensationalist then Fox News. A lot of the ppl involved in the Indian media are still non-alignists from the Cold War days so they like rubbing everyone the wrong way. India and especially China still needs the American and EU markets to grow economically. Japan, S. Korea, and China are more or less dependent on trade with the States. India is pretty adept at playing the friends with everyone political game.

Has anyone ever noticed that Hafiz starts threads by posting an article from some publication, but never expresses his opinion or subsequently posts in the threads he starts? Why is that? Curious!

I've suspected for a while that Hafiz/Akshar/Moviez is the same person.

Hafiz/moviez is the same person. He doesn't post his own opinion because he will be readily identified and kicked.

This is called a balanced power. Please talk to South East Asia people for more support (exclude Singapore because they support US like hell).

Me and my SEA friends are similar culturally.

China & India should ally with each other to form Chindia, and then they should ally with ASEAN in Southeast Asia to form ATO (i.e. Asian Treaty Organization).

Its practically impossible because of many reasons . Asian countries still need Europe and America as mentioned above in the post . There is an other reason in this alliance I don't see the name of Pakistan .

Good point. If China joined forces with India, then Pakistan might stop being China's ally.

The situation with Pakistan has always been odd. They also get help from the U.S.

But regardless I think Pakistan & India has had smoother relations over the last number of years. Infact the Russians has been helping Iran, Pakistan and India in building a natural gas pipeline to India.
