So where do you live??? What is your citizenship??? Why are you asking these questions? I tried to search but gave up coz couldn't find any answers just like you. May be the numbers weren't as great as I thought...not noticable enough for people to know about. I think most went to Mongolia and/or Inner Mongolia, may be Kazakhistan.
I live in Russia and have Russian citizenship.
A lot of people want to change life and country, even Russians themselves.
I heard that Australian Buryats need fresh blood and welcome new people. That's what I heard. But all this is rumors, no one saw an Australian Buryat. It's like a snowman, yeti. All say but nobody saw him. Ha-ha.
Really, there must be not so much people to be noticed in such a large country. Keeping in mind thousands of newcomers from Asia.
I lived in both western and eastern coasts of Australia. On the western coast trust me - it'll take you years at a time to meet others of your own kind. On the eastern coast it's much better - In Sydney there are lots (well, lots compared to the west coast) of international students from Mongolia as well as quite a few Hazaras from Afghanistan living here. Unfortunately, we're not as organized here as in the United States or the UK - we're getting there with gegeen.com and the consulate here in Sydney though.
If you open your eyes you will meet them, but as a mate once said to me 'you guys just blend in with us' so it makes it even harder... but yes I agree that we are always very welcoming to other Mongolians here in AUS since we don't meet many of us around.
