Anyone here like the jrock band X-Japan? A friend of mine introduced me to this band around 2 years ago and man am I glad he did. Just about every song i heard from them I totally loved so I bought their albums without hesitation. Even though they are disbanded their music never seems to get old for me. I only wish had some friends who played drums and bass guitar so I can play some of their songs *sigh*

I do. I got into them three years ago. I'm not a big fan for I'd rather listen to hide's solo, but I actually like some of their songs.
Kiseki
I like their nice rock ballad songs, and the only real fast song I know though is "Silent Jealousy" one of the BEST songs in the entire world might I add

Definitely Hide's solos are all awesome. And I felt the same way as you when I first started listening to them. I wasn't too thrilled of the songs but as I listened more and more I actually started appreciating the whole song and now I luv them. Musically the band is brilliant, the lyrics for some songs are absolutely stunning such as this from the song endless rain:

Days of joy, days of sadness slowly pass me by
As I try to hold you, you are vanishing before me
You're just an illusion
When I'm awaken, my tears have dried in the sand of sleep
I'm a rose blooming in the desert

Plus the guitar ie. Hide's solos are crazy, gotta luv the distortion they use. My fav song of all time would have to be Art of Life. This 28 minute song is by far the most well develloped epic metal piece created. At first I didn't really like the super long piano solo in the song but after a while I realized that it depicted a struggle in life because the solo starts off with a repetitive stroke of keys, eventually developping into more complex notes, but in the middle Yoshiki starts randomly slamming down on keys all over the place and finally recovers in the end by playing normally again.

*Phew* I know that was long, but just my 2cents

Please, do NOT capitalize hide's name. He has never done that himself. It's like.. showing your respect for him. I know it might sound dumb, but he liked it that way.

Hehehehe.....

I used to like X-Japan alot um......(thinking) about 7 yrs. ago? But after awhile......I realized that there wasn't enough diversity in their style of music (doesn't mean that they're not good, they are) for me, because Yoshiki writes and arranges most of the songs. So I moved on to Luna Sea, Laruku and Hide. badteeth.gif-
