I rarely see Filipino movies let along anything historical and having to do with Philippines. The only historical movies I've seen that had anything to do with Philippines are Jose Rizal, Macarthur and The Great Raid. What do you people recommend?

Perlas Ng Silangan (Pearl of the Orient)

Two men are willing to fight and die for the love of the same woman in this romantic adventure story. With colorfully costumed native dances and rituals, the men wait for their chance to be with the most beautiful women on the island. One is a rejected suitor, the other a tribal chief, and both constantly follow the woman in an obsessive ritual (which in these days is referred to as stalking). The fathers of the two rivals meet and remember their own rivalry before their sons were born. This Tagalog language film was the first official entry at the Venice Film Festival for the Philippines.

Set in the 16th century, this is the story of Lapu Lapu, the first Filipino hero, in his battle against Spanish Colonizers.

As the ruler of Mactan and head of the confederation of seven villages, Lapu Lapu (Lito Lapid) has always been just. He follows the tribal traditions and cosults the elders for his decisions, even in his choice of wife, Bulakna (Joyce Jimenez). But Raha Humabon and Datu Zula, leaders from other villages despise him and they want to conquer the village of Mactan by launching several attacks but always failing.

When Ferdinand Magellan lands in the island where Raha Humabon governs, he makes a pact to help Humabon attack Mactan and kill Lapu Lapu. Will they be able to defeat this courageous man and conquer his land?

Your sentence is grammatically incorrect.

Who knows the title of that movie about the Filipino-American War, the end of which is the Battle of Tirad Pass, where Gregorio Del Pilar dies as a tragic hero. I thought it was a good film, but I was young, so I don't really remember?

Dekada 70, I think, is a rare masterpiece.
