The succeeding administration after the Marcos regime took consideration of the citizens who were opposing the operation of the Bataan Nuclear Powerplant and decided to close it down.
And now, some political leaders are suggesting to re-open the said powerplant.
It is still operational and can be active again anytime.
The powerplant has continued to be maintained by the Philippine government , so until now it remained intact.
Do you think re-opening the Bataan Nuclear Powerplant would be the solution to meet the country's energy demands and to decrease dependence on imported oil?

I read an article about it and it said it's out of date and it will cost more to bring it up to code.

The Philippines does not need Nuclear Power anymore because 30% of the Philippines Energy already comes from Geothermal and the rest will come from Wind Power.

Yeah it should be re-opened but not as a powerplant.
Why not convert it for other purposes like making it a stadium or as a venue for Kris Aquino's concerts. We've been paying for it anyway might as well have some good come out of it.

You cannot open to the public the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant because it has been already contaminated by radiation when they tested the plant years back with real nuclear fuel.

That's the reason why I want Kris to have her concert there...

Hmmmmm maybe people who were behind the idea of reopening it got some other plans for that instead of using it as a powerplant.
It's usually like that, they pretend first to open up something, like they claim its for the good of the people but actually for their own gain.
