laos isn't too poor like most people think. laos has 6 electricity dams&plans 5 more,in fact the world bank just approved US1.3 billion loan for NamTheinRiver dam in laos, the NamtheinRiver will be one of the largest&biggest dams in S.E. Asia. laos is moving 4 forward!!! BELIEVE IT OR NOT...LAOS WILL BE RICH ONE DAY BY USING ITS ELECTRICITY DAMS AS THE MAIN BUSINESS. laos is the only country in S.E. Asia that has the most water rivers,if not many rivers u can't build many dams. LAOS CAN SELL ITS ELECTRICITY TO NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES,THAILAND,CAMBODIA,VIETNAM,BURMA,OR MAYBE CHINA.

laos goverment is nothing but a joke they dont care about anyone but themselve and how much money they are going to make instead of helping our people they oppress them. the only thing that the laotion goverment wich i belive is communist has done for our people has been to make our country one of the poorest in the world. When will the communist goverment see past there own personel gain and help our people and when i ask you will the goverment finally stand up a say lets help our country develop lets help our people let try to find a way to revive our economy will i see it in my life time probally not but i hope that one day the people of our country will one day rise up and say enough is enough.

I haven't heard of too many Laotian independence or anti-communist groups. Cambodia and Vietnam both had/have monarchist groups intent on restoring democracy. It more or less succeeded in Cambodia. I haven't seen much for Laos.
Its also confusing because were the king who was executed in 1976 by the Lao communsits descended from the Luang Prabang royal family?

The end of communism would need a revolution to overthrow the dictatorship. Then some mad U.N. intervention. Cuz even without Communism, there will always be corrupt officials. Them 3rd world countries.

If it weren't for them, Lao would probably have been taken over by the Americans and those Hmong people that were constantly attack Lao trying to revolt and take our land.
But what's happening in right now is Lao is getting a little better each year, the economy is going up and the government is opening up a little more.

That's what you were being told and indoctrinated. You're pretty dumb to make such a statement, don't even know your own history. If it weren't for hmong people, your pathetic revolution would have never succeeded. It was through them that gives the commie their strengths.

serves to know more when one is born in the country, absorbing all aspects of the country and living in that country.

when a country like Laos, China, or Vietnam is taught in Western countries like U.S. sometimes it's not reliable to rely on their teachings since they tend to be bias and all kinds of propaganda against these countries because of their hostilities in the past.
