no filipinos dont speak spanish. in the 300 years or so of colonial rule, the spanish firars didnt teach spanish language throughout the islands like they did in the americas even though it was techincally suppose to be the established lingua franca. i believe this was a tactic of the spaniards to limit communication between the indigenous malays of the philippines as the philippines have like 150 or so indigenous AUstronesian languages which some are unintelligable though related under the Austronesian language family. And when the americans came, they taught english as a lingua franca throughout the islands. and in 50 years of american colonial rule, it became established 2nd offical language. And today, the Philippines is said to be the 3rd largest english speaking nation in the world after the UK and US. But our 1st offical language is called "Filipino" it is based on the Tagalog language which is one of the many native Austronesian languages of the philippine islands. and so today i think less than 1% speak spanish in the philippines. i think it would be a good idea for filipinos to learn Spanish, not because i like the language but because it would be smart and be an advantage to speak spanish as much of the world speaks spanish.
i think it is really cool that despite the great lingustic diversity in the philippines we are said to have among the highest literacy rates in Asia. And so that means that Filipinos in the Philippines are at the most Tri-lingual speakers. speaking:
1) Tagalog
2) English
3) their regional language such as (Cebuano or Ilokano.. etc)

No, I've never seen that movie, I'm not even to the level of really understanding fluent speakers.
Joe puede cantar.
Joe can sing.
Is the "cantar" correct?
Montando
Can it mean either mounting or riding a horse or is there a different word for riding?
andando
What does this word mean? I thought it meant riding, but I looked it up and it said it means walking, which doesn't make any sense because the sentence said:
Un hombre esta' andando en una motocicleta.

ya walking is andar or caminar and that sentence doesnt really make sense.

I heard Spain is actually a nice place right now. They have delcious tapas, variety of drinks, tasty bread, transportation is okay and not as complicated. People around are quite nice, civilized..and no one owns any guns around. Even a teenager is able to travel far on their train. Plus, dining restaurants opens very late. When I think of Spain..it is quite festive over there.
