I would like to get the song called "Barrio Chino"

I like Spanish songs just hard for me to pick up most of what they're sayin sometimes cuz they are so fast. When I want to get my "ear in tune" I'll usually listen to Los Lobos. It was that song in Desperados. not sure if Antonio Banderas was actually singing it but thats the one when he was in the club con sus amigos

hehe u should take a beginners class to learn the basics. IMO I'd say you could probably learn spanish just by reading spanish teaching books but then its hard to get an ear for a language just by reading about it. Honestly I wish I had tried learning French BEFORE Mandarin

I want to join, but I don't know enough. Everybody's typing all this stuff in spanish and I'm just like, "Huh?...."

Experience: Only one year in high school two years ago.

If I really learn spanish I wanna learn the kind spoken in Latin America. At least I think there's slight differences between the language of Spain and Latin America/South America.

Because I can read/write/speak Spanish very well but I still have some trouble picking it up when speaking to others(which is rare). And French is pretty similar so I think I would have picked up on that quickly.



You're more then welcome to join Ya there are some differences between the way they speak in Spain and the Americas. For one thing I think Spain tends to use the vosotros form much more then mexicans, etc do.

The Spanish spoken in Spain is called Castilian Spanish. You're right about Spain using vosotros more than Mexico. Actually, Spain is the only country wherein vosotros is even used. Another major difference is that Castilian Spanish features a lisp. During the time period when King Philip ruled Spain, he spoke with a lisp. The people that lived in Spain wanted to be like their king so they all started speaking with a lisp and to this day, Castilian Spanish speakers have the lisp.
Another difference in spoken Spanish that varies by location is the pronounciation of the letters y and ll. Most people that are taught Spanish in a school are taught to pronounce both letters as the English y sound. However, in some locations, like Colombia and Argentina, many Spanish speakers pronounce the two letters like the English j. That's actually how I speak, too because my Spanish is based on Argentina Spanish.
