"The worst-case scenario can still be avoided, but only if Mr. Samak and the military forces allow the people of Pattani to determine their own future," Lukman said in an e-mailed statement received by The Associated Press on Friday.

i think it will.

now, it is the best time for the separatists to push for a referendum too

because the Thai gov is so weak

it has no supports from high income and college--educated people

the head of the gov, thaksin, is a divider making it easier for voters to say yes to the independence

First step of having your own country.

Just because the muslims cant get along with everybody else doesnt mean everyone wants to break away.

mulsim have inferiority complex. They will kill their kids before they will let them convert to anything.

They will burn their wives alive, if their wives look at their husbands funny.

the world would be a better place without them. just imagine, how much peace there would be in the world, if they dissappeared. then ppl can just fight over money or land instead of my god is better then yours, at least that arguements deal with things that are tangable.

Their would be no long lines at the aiport. just imagine, i can go to the airport, 10 minutes before the flight leaves. < which is worth it itself.

Yes, really,

what the hell is wrong with mulsim? why do i have to go to the airport 2 hours before my flight?

Jesus Christ! Allah Arkbor! please be more open minded.

i have some mulsim friends, they are very friendly ppl, they love talking about god, and i listen to them, but as soon as i question them on a particular inconsistancy, they start getting pissed off, i can almost see the rage in their eyes, like, How dare I? i mean, wtf... dont like me questioning their blind faith.

I guess its called brainwashing, or insecurity, or just crazy

hahaha, not poor me, rather poor you.

what is true is true, Thankfully Thaksin is back, now i hope there will be some @$$ whipping, payback is a biiitche.

ppl actually thought once Thaksin was gone, those ppl would stop killing innocent ppl, sure enough, they were still killing ppl.

like Martin luther King said, those who stand idle while others are doing evil, are as bad as those who are commiting the evil acts themselves.

They are all guilty.

I give the Malay Muslims credit for wanting to be Independent. They're tired of being "Kee Ka"(slave) to the Central Thai.
aithong
Dude, dont encourage them to do that because they think the current situation is caused by Isaan and Thaksin.

That's lies part of the problem. If only the Thai Govt. starts to look at Muslim Malays as Muslim Thais. Give them equal rights & starts to provide enough job & economic advancement to the South region. Let's face it, the South Thais, irregardless of Thais Buddhists & Muslims Thais, the bad economic sector only worsened the social & political situation there. The South Thailand has much to offer, low-cost labour will make it competitive for ASEAN invetors to set up shops, factories & tourism sector will benefit South Thais & Thailand in general.

Crack head mulsims bombed BBk during New Years celebration when Thaksin was already out.

So if the crazy mulsims bomb BBk again, it will not be because of Thaksin, thats already proven. They will Kill babies and Bomb innocent ppl regardless of Thaksin being there or not.

They have to chase all the muslims out to the sea, before thailand can become peaceful.

If Malay Muslims in the South want real impact, they should take it to Bangkok. Bring the war to those in power and that's the Central Thai. I don't agree with the Malay Muslims and their use of violence to target innocent people, but I want them to break free from the Central Thais, so it will cause a chain reaction and hopefully my Lao Issan brothers can rise up and fight for their own independence too. I believe Thailand days are slowly numbered. They can't hold on their country any longer. There is a prophecy, and some of you might dismiss it as just fairytale whatever, but if everything goes according to the prophecy, the current Thai king will be the last. After he's gone, that is when Thailand will fall apart.

heard about the prophecy too

but thailand has fallen apart since the second term of thaksin gov

the first thaksin was quite alright, even i hate him so much i give that gov 8 out of 10 of its overall performance

then came the landslide win for the second term

things changed so horibly

he should have gone easily to the history book as the best PM ever

however just like any other human beings , he want more and everything

everything goes downhill since

and his days is numbered too, everyone knows it

It goes both ways. Both siamese and the muslim south. Just like Lanxan said. Should have taken to Bangkok, where the power house is located. Not the innocent by standers.

We need to think bigger than Lao and Isaan reunited. Politically, our pinongs are in a very good position to assert themselves in the Kingdom of Thailand and hoping that it will break up just so we could be united is not to their best interest and our interest. If the Muslim south breaks away then the other regions will want to break away as well which will cause more trouble by destablizing the region. Thailand may very well one of the most powerful nations in SEA if not the only powerful one. You take that out of the equation and you may have Burma with its 500,000 men army supported by the Chinese breathing down on everybody neck in SEA. Be careful what you wish for because the other evil may just be worse than the one that we have now.

I see your point. My main concern is the Jake and Gaeo enroaching more and more into "Din Lao", that's why I want to see our people united so we can counter these outside threats that our people face in the 21st century.
aithong
I think the success of our pinongs in their country could possibly spread to Lao as well so i think it will be a win win situation.
