I was thinking of creating a single sub forum.. do you guys think that would be a good idea? A place for all the single AF members to mingle. Good idea or no? Ideas? Suggestions? I welcome all feedback!

I most often tend to head straight for the Active Topics list whenever I login here. There are times when different moods might seem me browsing through some of the love/relationships threads, but it does tend to be a little off the integral topic of the AF forum. More of a general thing. Usually it's more serious stuff that I'm looking for, especially when sober.
Now, where this is leading is, can it be done on the IPB system you've currently got, to split the active topics list into two separate pages. ie. the singles sub-forum having a completely separate active topics list. I'm sure that adding a second active topics hyperlink to the home page, and a couple of crossovers on the header of each list would be easy, but can IPB keep track of multiple active topics lists is more of the problem.
I guess it might mean that people could login sometimes for a laugh or a big sob story, and other times for the more political kinds of serious stuff, and simply click on the appropriate link to choose the genre depending on the mood or amount of alcohol comsumed at that time.
If the new sub-forum was still listed on the same active topics page, then I'm not really sure what it would achieve, but that might relate to my own style of web-browsing the one main page, whereas some others do seem to wade through the different topics on the main index page, as do I when something not recently active requires attention.
Also, there might be a conflict of interest with some of the current advertisers. That same old image for Asian Affection springs to mind. I wouldn't know what that other site is about, but wouldn't that have somethiong to do with single people, judging by the name and the portraits. From an advertiser's perspective, it might not be the ideal. Also, from the single lonely-hearts perspective, it must be as easy as a google to find solutions to such a problem.
I'm looking forward to seeing the improvements in April anyway. Neat as the forum is already, there must be enhancements possible.
