Is it any good??? I mean the OP is really bad, my intuition says it's a BAD anime.

Many people are claiming that it's the best thing to come out of 2007 seasons. I personally think it's pretty awesome show if you can ignore common sense while watching it.

But the mecha concept sucks and it looks like a show for kids.

Sorry, but anyway, the design, the anime itself pays great deal of homage to the older giant robot series, the series you grew up with. It's part of the series' charm and attraction. If you don't care for or have experienced older vintage of Japanese giant robot animations, the show isn't for you. It was never meant to be.

Then your intuition is wrong, because Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann is one of the greatest and most epic anime ever created, period. But make sure you at least watch the first 8 episodes before passing any judgement on this anime.

To be honest, I didn't like this anime either until I got to episode 8, but after finishing the series... Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann suddenly became my favourite anime of all-time.

Yup, when Simon grew some balls, that's what made it interesting.

man I watched 2 ep and I didn't like it.

i`m on ep 9 atm, i`m gonna finish watching it, but so far, i`m not really impressed. i love the art style though, reminds me alot of dead leaves
