Im a bit out of touch and the closest Filipino sore/restaurant/bakery is about an hours drive away. The best Tagalog I have seen in recent years is DEKADA 70 and I just saw that one last year so Im realy out of touch. Throw me some good tittles of recent movies and hopefully I can find the trailers or order the movies on line. THANX in advance.

Man I haven't sen Himala in I dont know how many years now. They used to play it on Easter weekend and Araw ng Patay. What about more recent? I heard a lot of good things about ILUSION but I cant find a copy of that either. Ive been trying to get my hands on a copy of Ang Pamana also. Maybe on my next trip to LA I'll head down to Carson and see what I can scare up. Im obviously behind in the times.

Isn't Dubai that 3 way love triangle? I seen trailers but a love story has to be realy good for me to watch it. Growing up in the PI you can get fed a love story every day for as long as you live. You might say my bar for love stories is set pretty high and if its just the standard then its not worth watching.
I own some good horror Tagalog movies with Kris Aquino. Imagine that, Kris Aquino in a good movie. When I watch it I tell my GF her mom used to be the president. I dont think she fully understands that yet. Sukob and Feng Shui were pretty good.

I own Anak and Ive seen Crying Ladies. I even recommended Crying Ladies to an American friend of mine and she liked it.
La Visa Loca was also very good. I want to expose my friends to realy good Filipino actors and Actresses Like Eddie Garcia and Nora Anor. Sorry my references are so old, I haven't been back to the Philippines so Im not up to date with the newer generation. I saw a movie with newer actors about some bird people tribe. It fu-kin bored me to death and the costumes were ridicules.

Yeah that stupid movie. I wanted to introduce my son to some Filipino mythology. He enjoys the stories I told him about the Kapre and the Aswangs. Especially the one about the Serena that falls in love with you and pulls you under the water to kiss you but they dont understand that you cant breath under water so you drown.
He likes watching Tagalog movies as long as they have subtitles and he can follow along. For the ones that dont I translate for him but he would rather read the subtitles if he could.

if you want to introduce your son to filipino mythology, i recommend seeing filipino horror movies. those contains tons of old filipino mythology, though it might scare the bejeebers out of him... embarassedlaugh.gif

let him try out all the shake, rattle and roll movies and he'll get the idea of filipino myths about other beings...
