She's originally from Osaka and spent time in Hawaii, and initially gained popularity with male fans for her "g-cup" breasts, but steadily is attracting female fans with her unusual strong/deep voice. I'm not sure how I feel about her, but I like that different ranges of voices are being infused into j-pop as opposed to the nasally high pitched norm.
