The arrests did not produce drugs or money, causing prosecutors and civil rights groups to denounce the bust as racial profiling. The undercover agent who conducted the bust was indicted for perjury; most of the 46 arrestees were pardoned by Texas Gov. Rick Perry last year. The character that Berry plays is not African American but Indian.

‘Tulia’ is an adaptation of the Nate Blakeslee book “Tulia: Race, Cocaine, and Corruption in a Small Texas Town.” Shooting will take place in Texas.

The subject matter is interesting but a lot of this has to do with the Black world view. It is interesting how they cast a Black(or biracial, depending on your viewpoint) woman to play the role of an Indian women in a movie about an Indian screwing over "Black" people which in essence is acting "White" according to the Black World View.

Indians are Asians, even though they are rapidly Westernizing. As global culture develops/evolves, India could very well be the bridge b/w Western and Asian Culture. There's this movie coming out in the summer that has Robert Downey jr playing a black soldier. Now, that is messed up, but at least you don't have white people being painted all sorts of weird colors just to play the characters for this movie.
