How can colored writing be used in a signature? Using color=red and then /color (both within brackets) didn't work.

BBCode uses a similar RGB format to HTML, where you use an # hash sign followed by the hexadecimal two-character colour values. If I can trade the square brackets like [ -this-] foe curly braces like {-this-}, to change the colour of your text to red, you use {color="#FF0000"} R E D {/color}, where FF represents 255 in decimal.

As an example, No double quotes in the colour value of my signature. Let's see if this works now?

The easiest way would be to highlight your words, and then simply choose the colour. That way it'll do the html begin and end automatically.

The color tags were outside the url tags (why the color didn't show before). Thread no longer needed.

I believe I was running a coloured sig with a link to an HTML page for an animated graphic image a few weeks ago. One thing to be careful about is the length of the entire signature, because the extra BBCode tags do add directly to the characters in your sig, and there is a limiut of somewhere around 120 if I recall.

Also, that big ugly image I'm using in my sig right now is actually a sleight on all the other people who continue to torment us with their ugly sig photos with every post they add their name to. That's why Mod gave us avatars, and this stupid idea of having a big pic on my sig wil probably be back to plain text before next Tuesday morning.

Nobody wants to have to read at a newspaper with the same pictures over and over again. That is why the avatars are kept over in the left margin, where they don't mess up the textual content down the page.

I hope I'm not encouraging other people to start putting up MORE blasted photos on their sigs. Mine's going at the end of the month.

Avatar should be less than 15KB and Signature picture{s} should be 40kb or smaller. All signature pictures must be no BIGGER than 600wx150h and 40KB TOTAL. You can have more than one pic, but it better not exceed 600wx150h and 40KB COMBINED.

To see if your signature picture is within size limit, just right click on your picture. Go to Property, and you will see the dimension of the picture along with the size. 1000 bytes = 1KB. So the picture better not exceed 40,000 Bytes.
