i love manila before WW2... i wish they could restore the destroyed beauty of the city

Manila before WWII looked very European and clean.

If it had stayed that way, Manila would be a big tourism spot for Asians who want to get a European experience without having to fly off to Europe.

Could possibly be named the most romantic looking city of Asia?

Hey there is no denying that there are a lot of Spanish-Filipinos who look very beautiful, such as Marian Rivera and Isabel Preysler.

Most Spanish Filipinos lived in Intramuros and New Manila back then. But their businesses were located in Binondo, along Escolta. During WWII, however, the Americans and Japanese massacred them and destroyed their habitats. The Spanish-Filipino business community has never recovered ever since.

It is also because they are getting displaced as well.

It would be good for the Philippines to become internationalized with Westerners, European, Asians and Latin Americans allowed to reside and become citizens of the country without requiring them to intermarry and assimilate, and without requiring them to abandon their country of origin. That way you will have white-skinned, blond-haired, blue-eyed Europeans to pure-blooded, light-skinned East Asians as residents of Intramuros which should be designated as an international city strictly off-limits to dark-skinned "indios".

Filipinos were allowed to enter Intramuros as long as they were Christian.

However, only the Spaniards and Spanish-Mestizos were allowed to live in Intramuros.

Chinese and other Asians were restricted at Binondo and weren't really permitted in Intramuros unless they had Christian-Filipino or Spanish blood.

Why Binondo?

Anytime the non-Filipino Asians started a uprising, the canons from Intramuros can easily be fired at them while the habitats of Intramuros just went on their daily life.

A similar format was developed in many parts of Philippines, including in Cebu.

Cebu had a Spanish quarters near the Fort Santiago - anytime natives started an uprising the Spaniards can just go to Fort Santiago, grab the armas and ban.

The Chinese were restricted in Parian where the Spaniards can keep an eye on them, which became the business district.
