In short they mention about the different of Esarn and the Southerner is the value of people. Esarn people value on those who got cash because the poverty down there is very serious. Where as the southerner value people on the one whop can feed them selve ,so they value the skill worker like Lawyer or Doctor. The most obvious example is Esarn people not value the education ,as long as the guy can made money is fine ,but the southerner is on the other hand Even the kid is very stupid the parent has to sent them to study in University until they got the degree. (The central Thai pretty much the same)

Well In the comment from Esarn to the Southerner also said that the southerner got better life than Esarn that why never know about the hardship. The southerner land is more rich ในน้ำมีปลาในนามีข้าว that why the southerner not need to worry that much as Esarnese.That why Esarn people dont care on the way to get money even illegal way ,even sell their vote . Its because the hardship develop them to be tough ,and careless.

-not many people mention the crime rate in the south.
it is very high. i believe it is way higher than any part of thailand combined.

-it is not true that we don't face hardship in our daily lfe. we live near the sea. and we are fishermen. life in the sea is tough and deadly.

-we have to fight for everything. we feel weird if anyone give us free stuff. if we got free food from strangers, most of the time we dont eat it.

-I have never found a southern beggars. I naver found a southern hookers. I'm not saying that they dont exist. They might. But in my own experience, i have never met any of them.

-we honor our grandparent,parent and honor ourselves too. we kill to protect the honors. it sounds cliche' ,doesnt it? but it is true.

-a "good" person will always be loved and respected. "bad" people will have no place in society.

Thailand spend more than 30 year since Vietnam war end to developed Esarn seriously ,when the annual new goverment budget fall out Esarn project is considered as the first priority to spend the tax on. Esarn pay tax the least but used it the most ,and still request for more and more money. The way the money spent on Esarn project is like throw it in the black hold 30 Year pass the return on the investment is not as much we see and Esarn people still poor why?

There are development project done in the other part of Thailand and I still can see the better progress than Esarn Why?

I compare in the way that the money that spent on Esarn project is only for short term coming and the outcome is fail. The villege fund is the good example of the investment that fail with no outcome. Thai goverment spend 1 million Baht for each village to encourage the local investment. The money for each village is expected that the people will used it for buy some farming tool or invest on their family business.

In the end Esarn people used it for other purpose like buy motorcycle and some other kind of entertainment. And less than 50% of money is return to the goverment. What kind of people like that?

I currently live in a less populate area of Chonburi where most of the citizen either own a small rice patty or do construction works for a living. I don't have any personal office, but I have to share out-patient doctor offices which filled with 600 patient a day, exluding ER. I see and talk to people from richest to poorest, sane to insane. I have a patient coming in today with an eye injury. This guy has just moved from Esarn hopelessly looking for work and while he was walking on the street a small stone flew into his eye. The stone was less than 1 mm in size but it ruptured his right eye globe. I had to send him to provincial hospital where eye specialists reside immediately. Anyway before the guy left, he said to me, "a while ago I was poor, but now I'm both poor and blind. Even though I didn't do anything to him in terms of treatment, the guy thanked me, and then left with the hospital ambulance. Do you know the difference between this poor Esarn guy and you? He didn't blame no one for his unfortunate event. He could have burst out things like the street wasn't clean, a rich man car was running too fast and thereby sending the stone right into his eye, bad weather, poor local government, so far and so forth. He accepted his fortune and thought about what to do next for his life. He is a man of honor. Should you be more like this guy? Should you find a way to live in harmony with people from bangkok -- instead of blaming on them for giving your people a harsh life? I don't know.

Btw I usually get together with people of all areas of work from the hospital directer, lab manager, x-ray technician, dentist, dental hygenist, gardeners, patient bed facilitators, electrician, accountant, nurse aid for a drink. Most of whom are son of farmers and none of them has your kind of attitude. Everyone of them has a problem of their own in their own way. But in the end, they find a way to resolve the differences and work together as a team.
