1. It wouldn't be a show if they didn't have Ash doing something

2. Team Rocket is part of the storyline, having them turn good would make their role in the show have no place

3. Ash may have different pokemon all the time, but he always has Pikachu

4. As long as people keep watching the show and the makers of the show keep making money off it, expect to see more pokemon shows for a long, long time.

The same reason why Pokemon is still on is the same reason why they're still making crappy Power Ranger series.

At least power rangers are using different characters and settings, whereas ash stays 12 years old, and pokemons keep popping out of nowheres. The new pokemons are so generic, they have nothing original. It disappointing me that they never gave it a solid conclusion cause they want to keep making money.

There's only 151 Pokemon to me. I caught a glimpse of the new Pokemon on commercials. They look stupid and generic. But when Pokemon first came out it was amazing! Then again I was a kid, lol.

The pokemon anime was so much better when legendary pokemon were actually shrouded in mystery and seemed impossible to see and obtain, like mew.

One of my favorite episodes was "Mystery at the Lighthouse", which featured dragonite and made it seem genuinely legendary. But now dragonite shows up every fu-king episode and is as tall as a human, instead of 100 feet tall like it was in the episode.

Pokemon has lost it's touch now. It isn't like the way it was back when I was a kid.

it was the shyt back in the day. i stopped watching after ash lost to gary and went off to follow him to some gay league. one thing that bugged me was ash always gave away his best pokemon. butterfree, primeape, charizard....who does that. is this kid on crack? whats wrong with him. his dream is to be a master and he gives away his best shyt. its like wanting to be the fastest driver in the world and giving away your race cars, insisting to ride on golf carts.

I don't know about the rest but to be fair, the Legendary Dog Pokemons were annoyingly hard to capture because they appear at random and like to run. Mew was different because you had to either use cheats or go to that Nintendo convention to obtain it. The rest of the original Legendaries were stationary and can be found once you reach their spot. I also don't think Dragonite was Legendary (although I think they did say it was in that episode) since Dratinis were really easy to capture and level up.

I have been watching it since last 4 years and still enjoying it.

The new pokemon are well designed and they were created for the purpose to expand the common-thought notion of what a pokemon is supposed to be.

I thought it was cool =D I loved Red/Blue and Gold/Silver. After that it wasn't all the fun anymore, still I played the GBA versions Ruby/Sapphire. Pokemon RPG games still have a solid game.
The anime is soooo repetitive, it should've stopped after the Johto league. But I loved Pokemon so much when I was a little kid it's still nice to see it's going strong (the franchise that is).

I only watched the anime a few times. It didn't appeal to me very much.

As for the games, Sapphire was the last one I played (or whichever one had the Legendary Dog pokemons). I have the latest one for the DS but I just can't bring myself to play it much... I think I'm at the point just before the first gym... It's just gotten too repetitive for me. However, when it first came out, Red was very fun.

Pokemon is great and the formula is solid, after the 3rd season the anime was ruined and took a bit of the popularity down with it.
Pokemon is still one of the best franchise in the world.

There's still so much potential to make awesome games like actually controlling the pokemon and have fights like in the anime, but Nintendo is still making millions of dollars with the way they're going so it won't change. But the Pokemon RPG's are still enjoyable.

I think the storyline it quite appealing and the story writer wrote it very intelligently. From Kanto ledge until now, Ash does get stronger and stronger.
