Hmong clothes are very beautiful. Sometimes they look like a mix btwn
SE and E Asian clothes. At times they maybe uncomfortable to wear just
like any other ethnic clothing but still extremely elegant and pretty!

Wow, Hmongs look so Chinese. One can never tell them apart from a Chinese had they not wearing their traditional clothing while one can easily tell a Korean from a Chinese. I had always thought Hmongs are southeast asian and should look Thai or at least Vietnamese. Really strange to find those tribes so far into the southeast asia.

LOL... there are hmong that have that northeastern look, some have the southwest chinese look while some do look like southeast asian.

there are only a couple of hmong i've seen that look like Thai but .. urm... some hmong do look Vietnamese as well.

I have been mistaken as Vietnamese, Chinese and Korean my whole life.. so urm.. yeah.

That's because Hmong in general have only been in South East Asia for less than 400 years. Hmong traits are much more closely related to Southern Chinese and the people from around that area but those 300 or so years does allow for intermixing with Southeast Asians too so we sometimes do look different.

they are VARY with the CLANS and REGIONS...
most hmong clothes are base on REGIONS... there have been influences from many hmong groups from different regions.. this is why one group often wear the skirt or hat of the other groups. LOL

I recently went to the Hmong flea (spelling???) market and found some beautifully crafted purses! They were of course Hmong inspired. They were very stylish. Now I regret not buying it I really love how creative people are becoming!

I guess I can say ...You will find Hmong girls dressed up in Hmong clothes more often than the men. ^^

the same thing can be said for all asian nationalities. I dont know why but Asian traditional clothes tend to look beautiful on women but gay on men.

JakeCutter. Yes I'm serious (that someone thought I was mis kas). Actually it wasn't only once now that I think about it. My auntie saw my school picture in her daughter's hand. She asked her daughter who that mis kas girl was... hehe...I don't look that different from my pictures, but my skin doesn't typically have the warm undertones that stereotypical Asian girls have.. so it makes my skin look more fair and the dark browns come out more in pictures in the shadow XD SO, I look Hispanic or to some Hmong folks Mis Kas...
