Malaysia is not exactly the most popular country on Indonesia Chat right now. This is sad. We're all little brown people who like to squat like slaves anyway. The average foreigner wouldn't even know the difference between our two countries, so let's use this thread to say good things about Malaysia.

Let me start. I love Air Asia. It always saves me from taking one of those flying coffins of any Indonesian airline. I also think the Malaysian/Malay accent is very cute. When I was in Singapore, I would always watch RTM on television. I was surprised to see that Malaysian sinetron is even worse than the Indonesian ones. For example, there was this conversation in this soap opera which name I can not remember:

Woman: I am aware of my past, and I'm a good woman bla bla bla.
Man: Why is that?
Woman: Because I'm a Malay woman.
Man: Wow, you're so smart.

I kid you not! That was an actual conversation on a Malaysian soap opera! But the stupidity of it all was softened by the delightful way they speak Malay. It's so cute, it just makes me wanna hug a Malaysian.

And last but not least, they have a great accent when they speak English. Unlike Indonesians who sound like trolls from Middle Earth when they try to speak English.
jiwa
I have learned that it's not the Malaysians nor the Indonesians..
It's the human itself.

Luckely there are also people who see through all the prejudges in this world and think forward instead of left or right.

negativity cannot be labeled on a race..
But what am I saying...
Every sane person with an IQ above average can think of that laugh.gif
DEL
I have been in Malasia, 2 times.
I have seen it, as a tourist, so know a bit off it.

Food is great, the people are very friendly and i really liked it there. But so is Indonesia.
Lots of good looking girls there btw:D.
I think it is more progressive and more open to the world compared with Indonesia. I like how 3 different etnicties with 3 different religions and cultures live great together, while all being malaysian.
I like how the Malaysian side of Kalimantan/Borneo cares a ''bit'' more about nature.

It is also 1 hour closer to home for me, so 1 hour less flying. That is a very good thing.

Edit:

On topic -

Kresna, light-heartening thread. Thanks a lot! Yes it's sad the way Malaysia is viewed in Indonesia now, but oh well I'm optimistic things will straighten out. We share so many similarities, what with Indonesians migrating to Malaysia since centuries ago and vice versa, so I don't think I was surprised that a cultural spat would happen one of these days. Anyway I'm a Malaysian so I don't think I deserve to say anything good about Malaysia in this thread. beerchug.gif

By the way, seriously that conversation happened? Haha! But I do agree that Indonesian sinetrons are better than Malaysian ones. I for one definitely enjoy watching them. icon_smile.gif

+1. If you have bad things to say about Malaysia, Bakso, you should participate more in those debate threads that we have in the Malaysian chat, instead of doing so in a thread that is not meant for that purpose. icon_neutral.gif

Yup! I'm from Kuching. Oh, you've been to Kuching before? Cool! : D Oh, I think you must be talking about the Waterfront. Haha well it's a nice place to go to, very relaxing and there's a lot of nice view there (eventhough I really think they should clean up the river). It's been here for a pretty long while, one of Kuching's tourist spots too. Haha your statement puts it in a different perspective. Yea, youths love hanging out there as well... especially the teenage emo/punk ones sadly... Oh and the new government building is still under construction. I don't like it though. It overpowers the Fort Margherita, that white colonial building next to it. Well, we'll see how it is when it's completed.

Haha! Maybe I should give you 5 points for noticing the girls there too? embarassedlaugh.gif biggrin.gif

Yeah, the waterfront. My brother met a girl in the bar in a hotel and she looked really scary for me. But my bro liked her apparently, everyone that gives him attention will be liked by him. She wanted to go to a nice place with him, but i cant let him go alone, because he is to young (and blabla something more). So had to go with him. But that girl had a friend, who was even more scarier that suddenly went with me. We only want to walk at the waterfront. It was like being paraded.icon_sad.gif People watching, didnt felt very good:(. Anyways, next day, i was the one watching the trespassers, and lots of goodlooking:D Some nice mixes.
I didnt like the building too, heard everyon is unsatisfied with it. Also went to taman negara Bako and Batang ai. And lots more, like kota kinabalu, sukau and peninsular malaysia. But i will definitely visit Kuching again, for the culture;)icon_wink.gif Had a great time there, nice people, beautiful nature, eating food at the pasar malam on the waterfront, doing things with the cat statue, etc..:P

They got those cool monorail and better transportation system.... while Jakarta Monorail development is in halt..., daym.... icon_neutral.gif
In tourism industry they win hands down. They surely can sell their tourism more effectively, while Indonesia just have good potential, potential and potential without serious meaningful effort to promote our tourism sector.
Hmm..., They got this lovely food... Laksa Penang is delicious.... I wanna sample as many as possible Malaysian food, and I can see soo much of our similarity. But still I love Indonesian cuisine better.... kiss.gif
Oh yeah..., I recently visit Yogyakarta and surprised, in relatively small city as Yogya, you can find Malaysian restaurant.....
