Its true what you say but most of that was during the Ottoman Empire before Turkey became a democratic Republic in 1923. The problem with the Kurds is left over from that era. But the Turks can solve it by giving up the Kurd area in Turkey. But 25% of Turkey is made up of people of Kurdish background and former territory. But Turkey does not want to lose a quarter of there nation by giving the Kurds there part of Kurdish Turkey. So who knows if the Kurdish Turkey problem will ever end.

Map showing Kurds areas in Turkey and surrounding nations. There are Kurds in Armenia: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/wor...ist-kurdish.gif

This is what the Kurds want: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/wor.../kurdistan2.gif

Just found out Turkey and Armenia have no diplomatic relations. But with the problem in Georgia they might be looking to establish ties. Also, it seems Turkey owns West Armenia from the time of the Ottoman Empire. See map: http://www.armenianembassy.org.uk/images/a...ons-armenia.gif

They say 40000 to 70000 Armenia still live in Turkey but mostly in Instanbul.
Read this current news on these two nations establishing ties: http://www.turkishweekly.net/news.php?id=57665

1. Most if not all of the Armenians living in Turkey are pretty wealth compared to normal citizens (most of them are goldsmiths) jews are jewelers & bankers.

2. Historicaly Kurdish territory in anatolia is about from 5-10% the Kurdish claim of 25-33% is overexagerated
3. Armenia begs for diplomatic ties but Turkey simply refuses them and I don't see how the current situation will change that?

4. The answer isn't teritorty there are many issues to be solved between the Turkish goerment and the Kurds because believe me between normal people there is almost no hostility.

5. Read up on the Turkish independence war then you will understand why Turkey will never give up a cm of land to anyone!

THE KURDS DESERVE MORE RIGHTS but most of all the east of Turkey deserve more ATTENION by the whitewashed western goverment icon_sad.gif
