Do you think this girl looks Indian? I posted a picture of her and someone said she looked straight out of Bollywood. She's a TV host in Cambodia.

I think its because she has a big sort of pointy nose, coupled with the angle of the photo, but other than that she doesn't look atypical for Khmers.

She might have been born in Cambodia, or even her parents. But those features she has originated around western India not Cambodia. She also has hairy arm.

Asians arent so hairy compared to Indians. And Indians themselves are mixed. No prob though, but lets not kid ourselves and think she is a native Cambodian beauty.

In first glance she doesn't look typical Indian to me. She looks like as if she is from Eastern part of India. May be she has big eyes but her overall looks are very much eastern.

That's called human interactions, and her features are really not special for Khmer people. I would be more surprised to see someone looking Korean than Indian calling themselves Khmer. Or even her parents? I highly doubt any significant Indian in her seeing as Cambodia didn't have direct Indian contact for the last thousand years or so. Seriously, just because Chinese people don't look like that doesn't mean the four hundred million or so brown skin Southeast Asians can't.

Look at these Khmer women.

Other Southeast Asian people

I've also seen indigenous Filipinos and Cambodian tribes who share similar features to her.

India itself is a very big region. There is a gradual change in facial features as you move in any direction across India. You won't even feel the change in facial features. There is no sudden change in faces of people, it is very subtle.
peshwawarrior
to applepannic not really they just look more east asian than "indian"

Udita is way prettier than the woman the OP posted. She doesn't look Indian, just the ad and makeup. Those Indigenous SE Asians are just trying to look Indian.

Hmm I could see why someone would say she looks Indian.....

But, I also think it's the angle of the photo..I can picture as looking more SE Asian in a different photo?

If you read my posts, then you'll see that I said she looks Southeast Asian, not Indian. I also didn't know Indian people are born with make up on, I guess you learn something new everyday.

I agree about the angle. In this picture, you can see here face more clearly, and the high cheeks, lower nose, flat jaw and light set eyes are very much traits that exist in Southeast Asian/East Asian than Indian people.

I think you didn't read my post properly. There is gradual change in facial features as you move from South East Asia to India and vice versa.

Who cares what she looks like you intellectual tee-totaler, culture is what distinguishes the real differences between Indians and Cambodians.

No, there's just focus on her eyes at that angle.
