I think it was a year and a half ago that the US was labeling and deporting their Hmong allies in the Vietnam war back to their countries. So was the law rescinded? I tried a google search but didn't get any updates to the situation. I think it's messed up on how the US government is treating it's former ally.

Never heard of it. If you were here illegally you'd get deported, just like any illegal (mexican, canadian, hmong, etc...). Other than that, I've never heard of US deporting Hmong. News link???

I believe it was resolved. They have since put in an exception for Hmong.. but then that is just hearsay. I haven't looked at the news on this myself. And, actually, the Patriot Act didn't specific that Hmong are terrorists. Just that guerrilla fighters are considered terrorists. Some Hmong do fall into that category. There was an exceptions list, however, Hmong was not in it. I heard that it has been remedied. It wasn't targeting Hmong specifically, however, it could be used against those who happen to fall into that category if it had not been remedied.
Personally, I think the Patriot Act is a poor law that should never have been passed. It's just giving more power to the FBI and CIA to poke into people's private lives.

President Bush sign that act to remove Hmong from the terrorist list early this year. We are out of that list.

What are the Filipinos doing to remove their name off of this terrorist list or are they even going to do anything at all?
