I have a very Xigon accent which is because I'm very well educated and learned how to pronounce things right. Alot of people overrated Hanoian's accent and think that the people overthere talk really sweet, especially the guys. Then they start immitate that kind of accent which actually makes a fool out of themselves. I, on the other hand, know how to use my advantages by using a warm, hearting and correct Southern voice and focus on making the other person feel that they are talking to a much more truthful and friendly person than just a fake sweet talker. The technique really works out, and I had alot of female friends from Hanoi (also Xigon ones too)

. I'm tired of people who don't know how to develop or make use of what they already have.
XigonCongchua-again your historical facts about Thanh Hoa are very cool. Thanks for contributing.
I know what you're talking about. Even though I love Hanoi accent I never imitated it because I know I sound best in my native accent and besides my imitation would ruin the Hanoi accent LOL.
Saigon accent doesn't sound as smooth and sophisticated as Hanoi accent but it can sound quite nice if you speak it in a proper way. That's what I do: speak the dialect in a proper way, not a lazy way. Do you want to hear my lovely Saigon accent?

I agree 100% with Xigon.
The northern accent makes the Vietnamese language sound more developed and sophisticated.
It's soft, smoothe, and very pleasant.

But lazy Northern speakers would sound just as bad as Southern speakers
