Things both sides SHOULD NOT DO:
By the Korean side:
1. Don't look down on Chinese.
2. Don't act arrogant in China.
3. Be open to cultural exchange.
4. Don't make any nationalistic claims to current Chinese territory.
5. Don't jump on the "China threat" bandwagon and stop anti-China rhetoric.
By the Chinese side:
1. Don't distort and claim Korean history.
2. Respect the fact that Korean cultural elements share roots with Chinese cultural elements.
3. Stop spreading false rumors with the purpose of containing modern Korean cultural influence. (this includes accusations of plastic surgery and so-called Korean invention of Chinese culture)
4. Stop belittling Korean culture and history.
5. Stop using the plight of North Korea to further China's political agenda.
Things both sides SHOULD DO:
1. Find and respect common cultural and historical ground.
2. Cultural exchange and understanding.
3. Trade and economic co-operation.
4. Social and environmental co-operation.
5. Political co-operation and autonomy.
**Finally, both people should stop stereotyping each other as there is no greater logical fallacy then sweeping generalizations about an ethnicity.
Anything Else?
