Full Version: Logo Merdeka tiru simbol Taiwan
Asia Finest Discussion Forum > Asian Culture > Malaysian Chat
Mimihitam

Made in Taiwan."

He can justify his actions as much as he wants, but that does not take away the fact that he stole the idea. The similarities are too obvious. The Taiwanese logo to me seems more like a blueprint, than a 'bahan kajian'.

And as for you DrGiel3, you are just a treacherous and traitorous Malaysian Chinese who I have no doubt in my mind will side with a foreign country if there is war between Malaysia and that foreign country. If war breaks out between Malaysia and Indonesia, you will immediately side with the Indonesians to crush Malaysia. Same thing if war breaks out between Malaysia and Singapore or with Thailand or with any other country, you will back stab Malaysia and join forces with Malaysia's enemies. You are the Benedict Arnold of Malaysia, and lots of Chinese are like you..

It's no wonder why there will NEVER EVER be peace between Malays and Chinese in Malaysia, Never, even if you try hard for a million years! NEVER EVER!!!!!

The problem in Malaysia is not Malays versus NON-MALAYS, but Malays versus CHINESE! Malays will some day mend fences with Indians and non-Muslim Bumiputras before we turn our guns against the treacherous Chinese.....yes, the TREACHEROUS ones!!

Actually we have no problem with the logo being branded a copy of the Taiwanese symbol. It's quite obvious, and even the man said that he had used it as his reference, eventhough we know it was probably more than just that.

However you gotta admit that it does make a whole lot of difference when the poster's motive comes into question. Why did Mimihitam create this thread? Was she genuinely concerned, or was it because she hates Malaysia more than anything else? I would be glad if Mimihitam herself can be more active in this thread, and prove herself not a mere troll.

Let me make this more comprehensible for you as an Indonesian. I'm sure there would be more suspicion if a Malaysian questions the origins of the Indonesia Raya song, than if an Indonesian himself does so. The same thing applies almost everywhere.

@ Esfan: Seriously, she's from Topix.com? Alright don't tell me that Topix members are starting to intrude into Asiafinest, especially Malaysian Chat! Topix is like where all the rudest, disrespectful, irrational and emotionally unstable (Southeast) Asians, especially Malaysians and Indonesians congregate. Sorry for the strong adjectives but I've been a guest there several times and I can't help but feel really geram at their attitude. There's just no dignity. I don't mean to offend my Indonesian brethrens, but I really don't like how some Indonesians can be so obsessed with the Malingsia/Malon thing. Maybe they enjoy it - perhaps it's a welcome distraction from their problems at home and Malaysia is a good target to vent their negativities. I don't know.

I think it's high time Malaysian Chat posts some Topic Creation rules to stop trolls from polluting the place. We have hundreds of guests lurking around everyday, and a number of them are potential trolls just waiting to blossom at the click of the Register button.

Thank you for the clarification Mimihitam, eventhough as a senior member here I wouldn't agree that Esfan is a troll. It depends on how the situation is handled by every forumer. He can be quite reasonable actually, if you're in for a proper discussion. : )

I don't feel offended at all by the article itself, truth be told. As a Malaysian student-designer who has learned all the ethics of design at college I am very disappointed with the fact that this guy - a veteran artist - for such an important event, resorted to copying Taiwan's symbol (albeit the fact he made some minimal changes). If there's anything good about the article it's that the guy admitted a connection with the Taiwanese symbol. A true artist - whether in Malaysia, Indonesia, or in other parts of the world - would have more sense than that...

Yes,she's from Topix.com. She's an Indonesian Chinese, by her own account in Topix.com. You know the kind of mentality that these Topixers have! Mimihitam is one of those Indonesians, or the malicious Indons, whose hatred for Malaysia is vitrioilic and venomous. They are forever prisoners of the 'Malingsia' syndrome, grabbing every opportuniuty that comes their way to accuse Malaysia of 'Malingsia'.

Of course, now mimihitam says she'll behave in AsiaFinest. She does realize AF has a different culture and that she can't troll around here and is tacitly admitting it. But the fact that she opens up a thread that accuses Malaysia of stealing something from Taiwan is indicative of her intentions here. She wants to initiate a heated argument between Malaysians and Indonesians over this issue which could easily degenerate into another 'Rasa Sayange' thread where Malaysians and Indonesians practically kill each other accusing each other stealing this or that..

Tell me Crystal....would you go to Indonesian Chat an open up a thread that is something like this thread?

I am an AF pro, not a troll! I wouldn't have come this far if I were a troll!! But you better watch yourself, and I'm watching you too! You could still be a troll, a residual from your topix.com life, albeit one that hides behind some facade of decorum.

For an Indonesian from topix.com to open up a thread that insinuates Malaysia as a nation of thieves (malingsia) certainly makes me suspicicous of you. Sure, that article that you put up in this thread is a published fact in the public domain. It's not that article that I'm questioning; it's your intentions of putting up this article.

I want to remind you that there are stacks of published articles in the public domain that are negative about Indonesia on practically every issue including Indonesian plagiarism/malingism that I too can choose to publish here or in Indonesian Chat if I want too...

Frankly speaking, whether she's from Topix.com or not, I'm not going to be judgmental on her. Maybe you've known her well enough to feel the way you feel against her. Perhaps being in AsiaFinest will provide a less bias environment for her to evaluate her stance concerning Malaysia, I don't know.

@DrGiel3: True, I should not blame the artist alone. He wouldn't have gone through without some degree of conspiracy - that is, if there was someone else knew that he plagiarised the Taiwanese symbol. I'm just sad that no action has been taken against individuals who are responsible for all this. Well, Merdeka 2008 is done and over - the best I can hope is that this case wouldn't repeat itself next year.

Oh yes! embarassedlaugh.gif You even have Indonesian hackers defacing Malaysian websites, like what happened to SUHAKAM's (Human Rights Commission of Malaysia) in 2007. http://www.security.org.my/index.php?/arch...an-Hackers.html I know we've wronged the Indonesia in some areas, but is there any need to hack into Malaysian websites? I don't think the Indonesians would like it very much if they wronged us and we hack their websites!

But of course, I don't think I need to mention any more examples. Maybe nationalism is a way of life in Indonesia; if it is so I guess it's understandable and we Malaysians just have to bear with the fact that some Indonesians can be very, very fierce tahap dewa indeed! Well, we've already gone through Konfrontasi Indonesia so we can go through this, can we? : ) There are some things we can change, there are some things we can't. Nonetheless other than this Indonesians are very nice to socialise with because we have much in common. Not to mention I'm in love with Indonesian instant noodles, so if we wrong you again just don't stop importing Indomie and Mie Sedap to Malaysia and I'll be fine with it. embarassedlaugh.gif
