CD, I went to Kuching for the first time earlier this year, I liked the old world feel that's there in places. Stayed at the Damai Puri Resort and Spa. Took ages, I mean ages to get from the airport (looks like KLIA much?

), it was near Teluk Penyu.
Oh my malaccan, was there any way that we could've crossed paths without knowing it?

Senyap-senyap datang, apa ni :P
You lucky guy, staying at Damai Puri Resort! How do you find it? I've been living in Kuching for 19 years now and I've yet to go there - haven't really had the chance really. And yes, I think the new Kuching airport really looks like KLIA; albeit ours is the 'golden' version, if you are to take into account the lighting. And actually, it
was meant to look like KLIA.

No scores for originality, but it certainly looks more like an international airport than it did before.
Glad to know you like Kuching the way it is! I wonder if you got to roam around the Waterfront, and especially at Gambier Street? There used to be a wet market there dating back to colonial times. In June this year they were ordered to move to a newly built market building in Stutong, to make way for the extension of the Waterfront. It was really sad, because that means the death of a vital part of Old Kuching.
On a side note, I'm afraid our traffic is beginning to resemble KL's infamous ones.

Speaking about political frontlines, I thought it was interesting how Lim Guan Eng left Malacca for Penang. Bandar Melaka had always been a DAP stronghold ever since independece, sans one election when Tan Siew Sin (or was it Tan Cheng Lock, cant rememeber) won.
That's interesting. But do you think that's also a method to expand DAP's influence? Look at who gets Penang's CM seat now.
