Please share your interview tips icon_smile.gif I specifically want to know what's preferable for a young woman to wear. Some websites said a skirt suit is preferred over a pantsuit...and pastel colour shirts are too feminine. Should long hair always be tied up?

It's perfect, you'll do fine. ^^

The 2nd pic looks fine. Threaten to shoot up the company if they don't hire you.

I've only made one post on this section of the forum before, and then only to tell some guy his chances of getting a security clearance were somewhere between slim and none.

Wear something conservative, navy blue or gray. A nice skirt is preferable to the Hillary look.

But there's something more important than the way you dress. Show the interviewer that you are smart and personable. I can't emphasize enough the importance of being personable. People like small talk that will show them you are someone they would like to work with. An interviewer will pick someone who is reasonably smart and friendly over a brilliant jerk any day of the week. Good luck.

make sure to rub to arse against the interviewer's crotch

be yourself and stay cool. look professional! ^^

how you dress depends on who your interviewing with.
The 3rd pic is horrible. I dont think anyone under the age of 35 should wear something like that. I mean i dont know anything about fashion but its great when 'young adults' can dress "fashionable" yet still professional. I'll try to take a look at what my co-workers wear.

How you dress is only a small part of it though. I say you go interview at a job you really dont care about. just to get some practice and feel comfortable when you get to the place you really want to work at.

i like di last one. it looks very professional and sexy at di same time.

I prefer the last one.

Yup.
I agree with fell, you look short in the skirt. Makes you look too young.
Presumably you'll look better in a trouser suit, more mature at the least.

All three outfits look fine with an exception of the collar on the 3rd pic. Tone it down.

That said, you need to ensure that you're well spoken, friendly, cordial, funny, and professional. I'm pretty sure all those characteristics will fare well for you no matter what the job you're going for is.

Good luck on the interview...

P.S. If i were to change one thing other than the collar, it'd be the shoes in the first and second pic....I don't really like 'em.. embarassedlaugh.gif

How did it go?

please wear no panties that would make me hot

The interview went quite well, although I have a feeling that female academics are strict interviewers? She was the only one asking me technical questions, while the other two men were quite laid back. I sent a thank you note the next morning but received no response. Perhaps they're just being professional? They said they'll call me by next Friday with the outcome.
SkylineC83
^ You shouldn't expect to get a response on a thank you note....

But it sounds like it went well, best of luck

BTW...what'd you end up wearing? embarassedlaugh.gif

Is this the first round interview?

What's the job?

What's the job?

A researcher in medical statistics at a London university but i'm expecting another interview this week to be a health economics analyst at a big company. The long term prospects are better for the latter position but what if I get the job at the university...-_- I hate waiting around and having nothing to do.

I graduated from UCL, MSc in Epidemiology..it was basically statistics and public health. Well I didn't get the job anyway but i'm not disappointed because I can focus on applying for better positions now.

I got a 2:1 from warwick then did a masters at ucl and i'm expecting a high merits (but technically London unis only give pass/distinction -_-)

I've applied for so many jobs -_-...but still waiting for the deadlines. I was offered a temp job with the Home Office but they asked me to commit for 3 months min and I can't...what am I supposed to do with my time?

Still looking for a suit, i'm in Sheffield the best choice I have is Dorothy Perkins or Principles XD
