Based on my experiences in Australia and countless of researches on racism I've have noticed that the boat people are greatly being mistreated when they fled to overseas after the Vietnam war. After witnessing the terrible war they tried to flee from corruption through cruising a million sea with a single boat, without food or water and most of them died from starvation etc. Then after that they were putted into re-education camp (something like that) for 5-10 years and finally become a resident of the United State of America, the great British, French, Australia and so on. but this people have to face racism for another 30 years or more, meanwhile, their parents have to start working with under $5 a day.
It is true that China did invade Vietnam and Chinese people are also two minded people but I tell you what. One time I went to buy something from a Vietnamese girl whom just came over to Australia and she paniced when she's taking my order and chose the smallest portion she can find then gave it to me. I was like WTF, why did she do that for?

for you ChinamanI'm not sold to communism but I have to give credit to the present Vietnamese Gvt to bring our country up to that stage coming from nowhere.And I have much respect to the Vietnamese people who experienced the harsh days of the Marxist_Leninism era following the Fall of Saigon.

And many Vietnamese kids are growing up being taught to hate the Chinese. The same is with Chinese and Korean kids growing up being taught to hate the Japanese. It's really sad, and it creates conflict. I've already seen a couple of ultranationalists here, they act really stupid and stir up arguments, starting from racist comments.

That's purely a matter of opinion. Vietnam is also in contest with other South-East Asian countries with the same waters, and they all say it's their waters as well. And China hasn't had a land war with Vietnam for ~30 years, so they're not exactly taking their lands.

Pol Pot Killed millions of his own people with the support of both US of A and China; it also attacked Vietnamese borders. China attacked VN largely because Pol Pol could no longer pay for the Chinese weapons, drying up the Chinese profit. China came out red faced because many Chinese could not fight and for what, for someone else's profit.
Many Chinese now want to make peace and enjoy their lives not war. Only the Govt pushes for war most likely because it could not take the heat from its people criticism of the corruption and the polutions. As always it is the average Johnny got killed for some fat cats in the Government.
Did i mention that Vietnam is one of most pro-American country in the world out side America itself!?!?
We were screwed when Nixon made partnership with china during Vietnam war. US pulled out and Communist Vietnam own a $hitload of money to china for war support so either way we were fu-ked by both country and I think we shouldn't pick which side. But Vietnam today is very much partnering with everybody to increase their economic status. Exports to US is very crucial to Vietnam and imports from china is also very important to Vietnam. We need everybody help, but the problem Vietnam have to deal with is corruption.

China and US were equally evil. Don't act like your country is so noble and all. US aided SVN because they wanted to stop communism, China aided NVN because they wanted to spread communism. You both just did it for the benefit of your own. Besides, after the Vietnam War was over, China demanded Vietnam to pay all its war debts, therefore almost all the food produced in our country was sent to China to pay off the debts, which led to high food shortage in Vietnam and thousands of Vietnamese died of starvation (China knew that Vietnam was in economic difficulty because the Vietnam War had just end, yet they still demanded Vietnam to pay the debts right away!) Then in 1979, China mobilized hundreds of thousands of troops to invade Vietnam killing millions of our civilians, and when China got exhausted by Vietnamese militia in Cao Bằng and Lạng Sơn, they decided to withdraw, and on their way of retreat they set up tons of explosive mines, destroying all of our infrastructures. And now you even dare to talk about how noble your country was! So shameful!
