I have to agree LOL

The Indian Selectors were either blind or bribed.

Miss Universe and Miss World are both beauty contests. In order to win, you have to have beauty first and then brains.

Ekta and Pooja may have been smart, but they both lacked the kind of beauty needed to win the contests. Hence why they were not even in contention.

The selectors for Miss India 2010 need to do a much better job.

JaiHind
No offense but those women are pretty damn ugly except pooja hedge and ragini dwivedi

Only this girl is the most representative of what most Indians ACTUALLY look like... even then there are other more very dark ~ rather black/tawny brown skinned Indians

I swear to God, you people are freaking retarded. I mean seriously! Holy crap! Have you ACTUALLY seen what Indians look like? These girls may not be top notch material - very harmonious + highly progressive looking but they are WAYYY... more attractive than typical Indians.

Bollywood has spoilt your mind, period. Bollywood actresses are like what? freakin only what 1% of what Indian women look like. Most of these girls ^ already are on the higher scale of aesthetic quality.

reality check. Indian women.

You showed one photo and declared it as the representative of all the Indians? How brilliant. Stereotyping at it's best. Looks depend on the region, genes, the climate the type of food one eats etc.

If you want to see how most Indians look like, here is a good compilation of pictures --> Faces of India

yep, the one in the middle is stunning indeed.

however, the one on the right is a bit scary :P maybe because of her too-arched eyebrows
looks like one who could play a Villain role in a movie biggrin.gif

ps: imho too much makeup is not good icon_smile.gif

Well, not all but yeah; I get what you mean.
The Indian population is quite diverse; but it can be generally split into three groups.

The remnants of the autraloids; (the first group out of Africa...they moved into the Indian subcontinent about 70,000 years ago or more ago...and went all the way to Australia)
The Dravidian language speakers who moved Into the subcontinent about 30-40000 years ago (One has to realize that linguistic affiliation need not always mean ethnic affiliations well)
The Indo-European language speakers who came later.

The last two groups can resemble some of the Caucasoid phenotype(its such a loose and wide term)..or one might even say Mediterranean.
however, As India was probably one of the first places to be inhibited outside Africa; the genetic diversity amongst it population is the highest in the world and its hard to bunch them all together into a convenient type. In fact, regardless of whatever part of India most Indians are from; there is something distinctly "Indian" about them.
