I hate how some trolls keep making new accounts and spam my PM box with hate messages. I don't want to block my PM because I receive messages from regular members every week, if I block my PM box then these members can't contact me. I think you should make a rule that members can only start using PM after having certain amount of posts. I know there are people who make accounts here just to send PM's to people advertising their websites or products. It's really annoying. So by disabling the PM option for newbies we can prevent both trolls and spammers.

i get hate mail too from those troll accounts. 1 is named EvilAsianDude1 or some $hit

The hate mails are one thing...another thing worse in my opinion is that they fill up spaces of your PM box and other members aren't able to PM you. I usually leave about 3-5 open spaces in my PM box so members can PM me if they have any question, suggestion, request or simply want to have little private friendly chat with me...And these freaks fill up the spaces in my PM box with their trash.

That did not happen to me when i blocked MSZ,If they create another SN they will get ban.

Aerain has/had plenty of accounts that passed the 100 post mark. It doesn't take long at all to rack up 100 posts.

Trolls that sign in just to spam people's PM box with hate messages usually don't post much.

i think these spammers and haters can be given a temp ban.. after warning from the mod. if they sent 3 spams in a row, they should be permanently banned

Not only are the hate PMs on the increase, the cultural forums are clogged up with trolls starting multiple topics about the same sleazy crap, or just designed to incite flame wars.

I got heaps of these PMs as well......from the same guy with 4 different account names

I think Jasel mentioned the other day that Ben's working on upgrading to a new ban system, which, let's be honest, is the real problem. The problem isn't new users coming and tossing around slurs, it's about old users who've previously been banned (in some cases multiple times) coming back with new accounts and tossing around slurs.

Until Ben can permaban people with effectiveness, I agree with both the measures to set a 200-post limit before sending PMs, and a limiting of posting-abilities to certain areas until a particular post count is reached. Make it less fun for people to troll here, and disallow them from disrupting the general conversation.

aerian use ta do this to me to help promote his trollism but i stopped him by saying "NO!! NO!!! BAD BOY!!! STOP IT! NO!!!" he whimpers and walked away from my PM =D

I agree, newbies should have 100 posts before they can PM.

I think 100 post minimum is good as not many people, I think, will have the time and energy to write 100 posts with fake accounts to spam people

Xigon, I received a few disgusting mails myself but tried to ignore them as long as they stopped, and fortunately they did. But in your case, a spammer who is vicious enough would do anything and will find any new way to bother you. I agree with your proposal althtough, as Takashi said, 100 seem too low, and 300 - 500 might do it.
