I think Japanese people are very interesting, but i don't understand a word they are saying. That's why im taking a Japanese language class right now, so i could learn. It's pretty damn hard. I think it's my teacher, or it may just be me. Seems like it takes a lot of time to learn it. Hey! if you guys have pictures, send some to me, you guys over there are cool.....especially to the Japanese girls, i think you guys are cute

!
O yea, i do a little hip-hop dancing stuff too, and i wonder if u guys have people that are good at dance......NOT just in DDR (dance dance revolution)

It's real good you're taking the initiative in learning japanese. it is very worthwhile to learn as opposed to the alternative.

It's considered one of the hardest languages to learn.
This is why i'm teaching myself and then going into an international education program in my college to study over in tokyo. I learn the language and get to pick it up at the same time while staying in tokyo.
A way I use to learn is I study the language, and I also listen to japanese music, and I watch japanese movies with english subtitles, and then try to learn from my japanese friends. Anyway to learn, but the best is to study the language while staying in japan. Your then being really forced to learn/use japanese.

Than spanish? You sure? I guess it's really based upon the person. Some seem to learn faster than others. I guess if your really into the language and the culture and areas around it then you may have an easyier chance of picking up the language than those who arn't.

IT ALL DEPENDS on what your first languages are.
Spanish is easy for someone who knows Romance languages, like English or French, as the vocabulary and grammar rules are somewhat similar.
Someone who knows Chinese (especially it's written form) would find learning Japanese to be easier than learning Spanish.
It's all relative depending on your previous knowledge. I would learn Japanese as I find it to be an entertaining language, but I realize that it would be useless for my purposes and thus learn Chinese instead, but I took a 2-week course during the summer and the teacher said I was really good.

Thought Japanese was one of the hardest languages to learn, on par with Arabic???
Why?
1. Kanji.
2. Complex grammar systems.
3. Different character sets to deal with.

The onyl difficult thing about Japanese to me is the kanji... but other than that... All I need to do is replace korean words with Japanese words and make a full sentence
^_^!!

Japanese is REAALLY.....REAALLY EASY!...It all depends on the teacher.
I have a really ongoing teacher..so my classes are super easy.....plus i can learn pretty quick..
Learning japanese is like taking candy from a baby
I will go there on August 25th 2005..and stay for 6 months, so i can study it and move on to something else.Although I'll prolly get arrested for nothing due to my skin color. Although i do know some friends in japan.
But in Language I know all Hiragana and Katakana on the first year and i kno 400 Kanji.
Its too easy to learn unless ur brain is not as sharp as mine. hehehe

YUp Japanese is a easy language to learn. Well i learn partically all the languages i know by myself. The only difficulties i find in Japanese language is the the KAnji. There are all like chinese to me. Chinese is kinda difficult to learn even tho me, myself can speak chinese but cannot write. That sometimes really make me cry.

I taught myself japanese since i was little like in 4th grade or something. So i know 3 languages. I also found japanese pretty easy to learn. i was little so it was probablly easier for me to pick up and probablly because my first language wasnt indo-european so it was easier to learn than a native english speaker.

English is alot harder to learn than Japanese, yes.
English is supposedly the hardest language in the world to learn, followed by Mandarin, from what I've heard.

hah english hard try dutch

2 i don't think you can mange one vocal sound you need to pronounce dutch words

2 .
But I am learning Japanese and its kind of easy.
And afther Japanese Chinese and Z.Korean.

Mar 3 2005, 07:17 PM
Haha, imo English is one of the easiest to learn. Dutch/German/Japanese are all very complex, grammar wise, but pronunciation is quite easy. Chinese on the other hand has very simple, straightforward grammar.
Luca, waar leer jij Japans? Ik heb juist vernomen dat Japans erg moeilijk is.

I think it really depends on what your own native tongue is, for people who speak languages similar in structure to japanese, e.g korean, turkic, mongolian, etc or in phonetics, e.g hawaiian, indonesian, polynesian...japanese should prove easy to learn. But for chinese speakers, english speakers etc japanese is an entirely different system...thus the great difficulty. Switch the table around, it's the same, for japanese or korean to learn english is one hard task.
