Westcoast rapper Ice Cube has signed a deal with NBC and will be producing a new cop-comedy series.

The comedy, is written by Ice Cube and will be one hour long.

While Ice Cube is not expected to star in the series, NBC encourages the rapper to make guest appearances and provide music.

“As we continue to expand our roster of diverse talent both on-camera and behind the camera, a guy like Ice Cube who is multi-talented, is someone we really wanted to be in the business with,” Ben Silverman, chairmen of NBC said in a statement.

“He’s had an amazing career to go from N.W.A. to this,” Silverman continued.

A release date on the untitled TV series is yet to be announced.
