Dating or marrying? Dating is more like, any colors of the rainbow will do. I'm talking black, white, blue, green....etc. When it come to marrying i haven't planned to marry anyone....yet. Shoot! I'm not planning to get marry untill i'm in my 30's-40's.

Vietnamese people have 1000 of years of interacial, interethnic marriages. We are a very open minded people as it has been built into our culture, into our language. We address people like we address our own family members with bro, sis, uncle etc.

However, like most of us, we prefer those that better understand our cultures. As long as other people are prepared to learn and appreciate our culture and customs, I don't see why not because history has proven this. There are many Vietnamese married to Americans and USA caused war and did many terrible things that many are still to be uncovered, and similary to the Chinese. Most Vietnamese have some Chinese blood whether they know it.

While I have seen Viet women married college-educated black and Hispanic men, I haven't known any Viet male married a black or a Hispanic women.

Personally, I prefer my own people.

LOL, bull----. Viets have the lowest rates of intermarriage even within the US and those that are born here. Most smart asians prefer to be with their own. And there was no interracial marriage going on for 1000s of years besides with Chinese who they are derived from.

So no, asian only please. Most viets I know are proud of their race.

Hehehehe.. I guess you are not going around that much...Among my circle of friends, I know quite a few couples (Vietnamese men with hispanic ladies) and they seem to have been together happily. I have also seen several Vietnamese men with Hispanic lady partners at my schools. Vietnamese men dating black lady is rare but I have seen it...and If you go around southern states such as California, Arizona, Texas..etc you will see a lot Vietnamese - Hispanic couples. Vietnamese, IMHO, are among the most open-minded asians when it comes to inter-racial relationship. ....hehehehe..

Well, generally the best students in the class like to hang out among themselves. Unfortunately, it is rarely that high school blacks and hispanics are in the top of their classes academically. They can be very cool in their attires, street-smart in their mannerism, but they don't share the same interests w/ kids who have goals/dreams beyond the ghettos and the barrios. (I don't mean to sound racist here, folks)

I want to add more to it. While you were at highschool, did you see any serious-minded Chinese students hanging around the blacks and hispanics? (For that matter, any Japaneses, Koreans )

I think more Viets like to hang out with Blacks and Latinos compared to Taiwanese/Korea/Japanese.

but we're talking about vietnamese guys here. vietnamese back in my highschool didnt chill with anyone except with their own race. most of them preferred not to speak english but mainly vietnamese.....in groups, i would see them walking the halls talking really loud in vietnamese and all the other races would just stare and laugh

what does me-deng or be-deng mean?? i hear this word a lot when i'm around vietnamese and when their talking about black folks....they usually have this angry look on their face when they say it...

"my den" means "Black American", that's a very honorary term because Vietnamese culture has all kind of racial slur terms to refer to every Asian ethnic group, Black, and Mexican.

That might be somewhat true for HIGH SCHOOL but keep in mind that there is also life after high school so your worldly view or perspective is quite limited. Repeating the same mantra over and over again does nothing to expand your horizon.

After college, or even highschool, people tend to stick to their own ethnic groups, life returns where it has begun

No, I didn't make the sweeping statement that all blacks are underachievers. Some of them are brilliant, but statistically it is rare that the top students in highschools are black or hispanic. That's the reason why they are underrepresented at college level.

About men/women like Obama/his wife, I only have the highest regards for them. I may disagree w/ their politics, but I certainly respect their personal achievements.
