Sithandone which was a province is now a city with different name, SiPhanDone. What is the meaning of the words?
There was a hospital with most foreigner medical staff in Vientiane. Most of the Lao people knew it as O.B. Hospital. What is O.B?

Si Phun done = four thousand islands in southern Laos.

O.B. = Operation Brotherhood. OB School of Nursing in Viengchan. Now known as Settathirath hospital.

How about Sithandone?

If you're Lao, you should know. Sithandon is a southern accent for 4000 islands. Just the way how southerner pronounce.

Southerner would pronounce: Khuay Lum-Khuay Lon
Central Lao would pronounce: Khuay Dum- Khuay Don or Black buffalo-Albino Buffalo.

Southerner: Sithandon
Central Lao: Si-Pun-don
