Let me ask you why you decided to make the title 'Okinawa girl' and not Japanese girl? Why the article link you posted up describes the rape of an Okinawan woman? That's because Okinawa is not only separated geographically from the rest of Japan but there's still an underlying ethnic distinction in which Okinawa is describe in many articles and such as a separate nationality. Okinawa does not represent Japan nor does it represent the Imperial Japanese and the problems of Okinawa do not represent the problems of Japan. The sad truth is, Japan would probably want everyone to forget about the Marine rapes on Okinawa as well.

Hmm..could you tell me how these two issues are related? In other words, it seems as though you are saying that the rape of the girl is totally justified because of what happened in Nanking. Is this correct? If so, that is very disgusting. I am sure that the girl in Okinawa, and her family, really appreciates your "concern" over her (sarcasm). Like she had anything to do with Nanking.

What exactly is your true purpose of posting this? Be honest. To tell you the truth, it really doesn't seem like your true goal, intent or concern has anything to do with the rape of this girl at all. In fact, I would go as far as to say that you probably don't give two flips about her at all. Seems like your only purpose is to vilify Japan and show how terrible Japan is.

That's totally fine. I mean, if your only intent is to show how terrible Japan is, then just be honest about it and make a post that says, "Japan is terrible because of Nanking". Just don't try to use the horrifying rape of an innocent Japanese girl to somehow make it seem as though you actually care, which obviously you don't.

No, Japanese think it would be mendokusai so they choose to ignore the issue. They just don't give a $hit about Okinawa because they (The Government and "Nobles") think it's a worthless bunch of rocks with people living on them. They benefitted after losing the War to have all the Military bases concentrated on Okinawa rather than Mainland and only care for the the Islands to extend their borders. To be honest, most of the Japanese politicians only care for themselves and their business, so it's the whole of Japan that's suffering. These types of situation are not unique to Japan either, however, they still are able to maintain an extremely high level of success so something's going right.

It'd be the people themselves.. not necessarily the politics.
