Hmmm,

Maybe it's a very stupid question, but do Buddhistic Cambodians celebrate Christmas?

yes we celebrate christmas and we are buddhists. Honestly I can care less of how the church defines christmas, but to my family its an adopted tradition of getting together during that time of the year -- and the gift of giving ... no jesus or 3 wisemen stuff.

We celebrate it but we do it Khmer style, Hotpot, Karaoke with close friends and family. The gift giving part is mainly for the lil kids, but I find money left over to buy my mom sumthing.

Exactly. First of all to those that asked if khmer people celebrate Christmas? You have to understand what christmas is, Christmas is having all your families together, drink, eat, enjoying life,it's NOT alway about "getting" but "giving". It doesn't matter how little or large the gift is as long as it from the heart,a cards, kind words, helping around the house, take your parents out for lunch/dinner being with family because after all Christmas is "LOVE". I'm sure everyone out there have LOVE in their heart whether he/she know it or not.
Point_Dexter
"Christmas" has nothing to do with December 25th.
The Christians stole that day from many pre-Christian gods like Krishna and Horace. Just like how they stole pagan holidays like easter and condem other pagan holidays like halloween. Christians can go suck a big fat one.

Its more retarded when Cambodian Christians celebrate Songkran and Prachum Ben. ...the hypicracies...

Happy Krishmas.
