The first one, which was released last fall... is very similar to original series with better graphics and some new scenes... but that's pretty much it.
According to the trailers and some leaks, the next one will have completely different storyline. New character, and plots (compared to original stories) are chronologically screwed up. I hope that they will put some new amazing stories... but who knows. It's been a long time for Gainax.

Can't wait until all four are released and then I hope they release all four simultaneously in a box here in NA

But that would probably be whoppers of bucks for it - maybe 200 bucks or so O_O

I spent 100 bucks on the series, one of a few times I actually spent a lot for Anime or something to watch for that matter
